We develop complex radiation effects mitigated designs that balance competing requirements in modern space programs, delivering cutting-edge solutions that enable our customers to achieve more in space.We are looking for a hardware design engineer to support the following functions:* Assist in the design, implement, and test mixed-signal Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and Printed Circuit Assembly (PCA) utilizing High Density Interconnect (HDI) PCBs and high-speed (> 1 GHz) components and circuits* Schematic capture and circuit analysis* PCB layout and routing* PCA integration, test, and debug* Support and enhance existing embedded hardware primarily at the PCB and PCA level* Supports interfacing disciplines such as mechanical, RF, software, firmware, and project managementEducation/Certification: Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related fieldYears of Experience: 0 - 3 years of experience with embedded hardware designKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:* Experience with schematic capture and PCB layouts using Altium design tools within IPC standards* Understanding of the hardware development process, including requirements specification, characterization, simulation, high-speed digital design, signal processing, electrical hardware schematic capture, layout, routing, testing, and interfacing* Experience with circuit simulation and circuit analysis using PSpice, LTspice, or similar* Experience with hardware integration, test, and debug tools (digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, emulators)* Experience with hardware engineering processes and standards* Experience with product configuration management systems* Proven communication / interpersonal skills and ability to be a strong team player* Ability to be granted a security clearanceDesired:* Experience with Xilinx family devices, including Zynq UltraScale+ or Versal architecture, highly desired* Knowledge of NVMe, PCI, PCIe, cPCI, VME, and VPX standards (VITA 46 and VITA 65) and demonstrated experience implementing in embedded hardware designs* Experience with design for extremely demanding/rugged environments (e.g., high temp, shock/vibe, etc.)* Understanding of basic signal integrity design principals and techniques* Understanding of basic power integrity design principals and techniques* Experience with writing test software in Python, C/C++, or assembly language to test hardware* Experience with FPGA and microprocessor development including hardware descriptor languages (e.g. Verilog, VHDL)
