Find your future with us.Boeing Global Services (BGS) – Structures Stress Team, located in sunny Southern California, is seeking an experienced Structural Analysis Engineer with adept knowledge of stress analysis methods, engineering principles, certification, and collaboration skills. This requisition is hiring for primary and secondary structures stress for airplane production & airplane post-production modifications.At the Long Beach Design Center, we keep the world connected. Our team gives the opportunity to experience many facets of the Boeing Company in one place!Position Responsibilities:Performing detailed structural analysis to determine structural integrity (margins of safety), using classical techniques and Boeing tools. This analysis can support production, responses to customer inquiries, service bulletin development, failure investigation, regulatory agency coordination, and show compliance to regulatory requirements.Providing guidance on structural design and configuration development.Create trade studies to optimize the structure and meet program requirements.Work with the team to integrate component-level structural models and perform integrated analysis, using finite element methods, to develop internal loads and stresses in order to verify structural integrity with minimal instruction.Document structural analyses and data required to show compliance with Boeing, customer, and regulatory requirements.Participate in the resolution of technical, operational, and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer (internal and external).Ability to support regular and emergent domestic or international travel to support our customers.Export Control:This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor of science (or greater) from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering or chemistry or other technical degree3+ years of experience with Stress Analysis/Structural Analysis3+ years of experience with classical hand analysis and FEA software experienceExperience with Boeing processes and proceduresExperience with Fatigue and Damage Tolerance AnalysisWilling & able to travel up to 10% of the time domestically and internationallyPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):5+ years of higher education and/or related work experience (Higher education includes college, university, technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc.)10+ years of higher education and/or related work experience (Higher education includes college, university, technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc.)Experience leading Connectivity Retrofit ProjectsProficient experience with composites and/or non-metallic materialsExperience working with internal or external stakeholders (e.g. business partners, customers, Finance, suppliers, etc.)Strain gauging experience OR Experience with mechanical and electrical testing in the aerospace industry to include proof test, leak test, avionics test and/or functional testExperience in Finite Element Analysis/Methodology (PATRAN/NASTRAN, ABAQUS, RISA)Typical Education/ Experience:Mid-Level (Level 3)Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Lead (Level 4)Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Senior (Level 5)Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Relocation:This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.100% Onsite:This position is expected to be 100% onsite.
