We have an opening for a new
Information, Advice, Guidance and Progression Officer
role to work with learners located in Boston, East Lindsey, South Holland and South Kesteven. This post is
fixed term for 2 years
to drive engagement and progression across our adult learning programmes, funded by the
Department for Education.
About the role
Our new
Information, Advice, Guidance and Progression Officer
will play an integral part in the service delivering over 7,000 training places to adults each year and supporting the
Council’s Employment and Skills Plan.You will support and drive learner engagement through development and implementation of a new
Information, Advice and Guidance
strategy with the aim of increasing the proportion of adult learners progressing into a positive outcome and achieving their career goals.You will work autonomously and flexibly, supporting both individual learners and working with a range of partner organisations to facilitate learner progression. The role will be primarily working with and supporting learners in Boston, East Lindsey, South Holland and South Kesteven; therefore, you will need a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.Information on the

You will be expected to work from the office with your team at least once a week in our office base in Sleaford, typically on Thursdays, and potentially a second day as needed. Occasionally, additional office days may be required. Some travel will be necessary to attend partnership meetings with our subcontracted providers and support learners at their locations. The Council also offers flexibility in working patterns to support a strong work-life balance, while ensuring service needs are met.About you
On an individual basis, you will actively contribute to delivering positive outcomes to learners and maximising the impact of our programmes. You will work autonomously, make decisions, and be effective in developing and maintaining partnership relationships, being a good team player with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. It goes without saying that to achieve this you will need to be skilled at building and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships.Ideally you will be:Educated to NVQ Level 4 or equivalentHave a minimum of Level 3 Information Advice and Guidance Qualification OR have relevant sector experience and a willingness to obtain a relevant qualification.Experienced in delivering Information, Advice and Guidance or relevant experience in supporting individuals with career progression.Have demonstrable experience in partnership working and delivering projects or initiatives.Have suitable ICT skills (Microsoft Office)If you have experience working in the FE sector and possess the skills to support, develop, and advocate while maintaining strong working relationships, consider joining our team.Be part of a group that promotes and delivers innovative and exciting adult skills opportunities to over 7,000 adults each year.
