The Director of Finance is responsible for managing the day-to-day financial activities of the organization, including but not limited to cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, payroll and financial statements and analytics. This position will provide financial information to the Executive and Leadership team about appropriate financial matters that will assist them in making business decisions about the Organization’s financial direction. This position supervises employees performing accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, accounting and client funds functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Budgeting, Planning and Forecasting:

Partner with CFO and InVision Leadership to develop annual financial budgets, as well as quarterly forecast of financial performance and trends.

Meet budgetary objectives but also be able to adjust to program constraints considering and applying accurate allocations of overhead costs to all projects based on financial analysis.

Assist Program Leadership in creating and managing budgets.

Create budgets for grants and other requests and prepare grant interim and final financial reports.

Collaborates with CFO for quarterly and year-end financial activities and the annual audit.

Work with CFO on Budget to actual monthly variance analysis reporting.

Audit and Tax:

Ensure accounting firm receives requested information to perform audits and prepare appropriate tax returns.

Work with auditors to ensure accuracy and timely completion of audit and tax returns.

Update annual financial statements with note disclosures and maintain knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles pertaining to InVision.

Financial Administration and Operations:

Directs the finance, accounting, payroll and billing functions while supporting all internal team members and departments.

Ensures strong positive relationships are developed and sustained with all stakeholders.

Oversees financial procedures and systems; develops/maintains a documented system of all accounting policies and procedures.

Responsible for implementing appropriate system of internal control over financial activities promoting stewardship of organizational assets.

Develops annual finance department operational plans focusing on process improvements, efficiencies and strategic plan goals.

Maintains accurate and complete accounting records in accordance with InVision’s policies and procedures, internal controls, government regulations and generally accepted accounting principles.

Assures the completion of all components of monthly financial statements, including necessary analysis.

Assures reconciliation of cash accounts is completed and accurate.

Oversees completion of monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and financial statements as a whole.

Responsible for finance department employee performance to include staff development and goal setting.

Maintains knowledge in appropriate regulatory requirements and compliance policies, ensuring timely staff education and inform staff of any changes or developments.

Assist with special projects, reports, data gathering and analysis.

Perform other duties as assigned by Chief Financial Officer.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly supervises multiple positions within the Finance Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Seasoned professional with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with Accounting or Finance major. CPA or MBA preferred.

Five plus years of experience working in accounting or finance required.

Non-profit management preferred with 3 or more years of supervisory experience.

Strong financial analysis and management skills including developing and monitoring budgets, financial reporting and strategic decision-making a must.

Experience in integrating finance-related IT systems preferred.
