The Bureau for Inclusive Growth, Partnerships, and Innovation (IPI), advances USAID's work to end economic and social inequality, inequity and vulnerability, and to improve the impact of development assistance through innovation, experimentation and more diverse partnerships. The Bureau advances a systems approach to deliver cutting-edge technical assistance to Missions and other parts of the Agency to advance longstanding and emerging priorities, including digital development, localization and non-traditional partnerships, gender equality and equity for marginalized populations, and educational and economic opportunities for all.The USAID Center for Education is responsible for advancing the vision of the U.S. Government Strategy on International Basic Education and the USAID Education Policy. The vision is that “Partner country education systems enable all children and youth to acquire the education and skills needed to be productive members of society.” The Vision, Principles and Priorities of the Policy are applicable across both stable and crisis and conflict-affected contexts, as well as formal and non-formal education settings.The Systems Division works with education sector stakeholders (e.g., Missions, Bureaus, and Independent Offices (MBIOs), Center for Education, public and private sector) to employ systems practices, enable local leadership, strengthen education finance, governance, and technology, and foster partnerships. The Division leverages our unique position to advance the education sector and Agency’s mission by:Increasing the cohesion of the Systems Division's teams/workstreams/etc. and how they support systems strengtheningImproving the integration of systems strengthening practices and focus with other Bureaus, Operating Units and Center work.Bolstering the efficacy of systems strengthening interventions in partner countries.Location:

The annual salary range for this role is $63,000 - $66,000 a year with the starting salary determined based on candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and education, in addition to budget availability.Clearance:

The Program Assistant will work closely with the Center’s Leadership Team and primarily with the Systems Division Lead to support an array of activities that ensure the division and the Center is responsive to its mission. Responsibilities may include the following:Provide administrative, basic accounting, and workflow management support to Systems Division staff;Provide scheduling and coordination support to Systems staff;Ensure external and internal meetings and conference calls run smoothly and effectively by managing invites and conference call details, organizing meeting logistics, preparing meeting materials, preparing minutes and taking notes, coordinating follow-up, and booking facilities;Assist in the preparation of meeting materials, including data collection, preparation and assembly of materials;Track next steps on meeting outcomes and communications;Coordinate staff travel arrangements, including flights, accommodation, USAID’s travel systems and country clearances, visa application, and ground transportation;Maintain updated lists of points of contact and activities.Knowledge Management and Communication

Maintain electronic files (shared network and/or Google drive) to make sure they are comprehensive and accessible for colleagues;Develop trackers and tables for planning and monitoring upcoming tasks and responsibilities, milestones for project design, implementation, and evaluation;In collaboration with the System Division Lead, develop and send weekly email messages to staff providing reminders of upcoming tasks;Prepare visual communication materials for regular and ad hoc reporting and presentations;Collaborate with colleagues to conceptualize and produce online and print-based communications materials to inform stakeholders of USAID’s efforts and accomplishments;Track all documents through stages of development;Assist with event planning, including annual conferences, trainings, and visiting delegations.Technical Support, Portfolio Management, and Reporting

Support Systems staff to complete a variety of tasks that they lead on, including providing process, administrative and technical support;Work with the Division Lead to ensure smooth operations of workflow management, staff engagement in Center-wide and division-wide tasks and meetings, and supporting overall coordination with other divisions and Center Leadership;Work with implementing partners, researchers, and others to develop content for promotional materials (fact sheets, program summaries, presentations, and speeches) for internal and external events;Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts to develop content to USAID Education social media presence and to USAID blogs;Prepare Center and Bureau leadership for events and speaking engagements by developing talking points, speeches, presentations, briefers, and scene setters;Prepare content for demand-based professional development opportunities to USAID staff through in-person training courses, webinars, and online short courses;Work with team members on compiling, reviewing, and tracking Operational Plan (OP) and Performance Plan and Report (PPR) data;Conduct research and contribute to technical documents as part of Mission technical assistance, reports, and briefings;Provide project management support, such as budget and activity tracking, records management, and other tasks as needed.Qualifications

of relevant experience required.Experience providing high-quality support to fast moving and hard-working teams.Exceptional organizational, analytical and troubleshooting skills; detail-oriented; ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Exceptional writing, editing, and research skills.Ability to work independently, resourcefully, and on own initiative, with flexibility to changing priorities and an eagerness to learn by doing.Interest in international development and education - and commitment to USG mission and improving educational outcomes.Interest and/or experience in Education Finance, Information, Communication and Technology, Private Sector Engagement, System Strengthening and Localization is a plus, but not required.Strong proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.What We Believe
