The IDL Data Analyst applies data and information management concepts, department and campus methodologies, and policies and procedures to process various data for public research use through the UCSF Industry Documents Library (IDL). This position works on data and information management processes of moderate scope and complexity where analyses of situations or data require a review of a variety of factors.The IDL Data Analyst collaborates with a team of archivists, data scientists, and software developers to evaluate and annotate data, perform quality control, screen electronic text and audio-visual files for sensitive information, and apply redactions as appropriate according to department and campus policies. In-house training will be provided. This position offers flexible part-time hours (approximate weekly commitment of 10 hrs/wk) and can be performed remotely.The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. The salary range for this position is $67,000 - $107,200 (Annual Rate).Department Description

About IDLThe UCSF Industry Documents Library is a digital archive of more than 20 million documents created by industries which influence public health, hosted by the University of California, San Francisco Library. Originally established in 2002 to house documents publicly disclosed in litigation against the tobacco industry in the 1990s, the IDL has expanded to include millions of documents from the opioid, drug, chemical, food, and fossil fuel industries to preserve open access to this information and to support research on the commercial determinants of public health.Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.1 year of directly related experienceKnowledge of data management systems, practices and standards.Demonstrated ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds.Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team.Demonstrated problem-solving skills.Preferred Qualifications
