Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head Pricing Actuary to lead our actuarial pricing team. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of actuarial pricing for our P&C insurance products, driving profitability and growth through data-driven decision-making and innovative actuarial techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
· Strategic Leadership: Lead the company's pricing strategy, manage the actuarial team, and contribute to overall business strategy.
· Pricing and Product Development: Manage rating algorithms, support product development, and ensure profitability across all segments.
· Advanced Analytics: Implement cutting-edge analytical methods and oversee the development of pricing and demand models.
· Performance Assessment: Monitor product profitability, establish performance metrics, and propose improvements for underperforming areas.
· Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulations, manage rate filings, and interact with regulatory bodies.
· Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with various departments, assist in implementing pricing tools, and explain complex concepts to non-technical audience.
· Industry Engagement: Represent the company at industry events and stay current with actuarial trends and best practices.
Qualifications:
· Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS)
· 10+ years of actuarial experience in P&C insurance or reinsurance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
· Strong knowledge of ratemaking, reserving, and financial modeling
· Expertise in predictive modeling and machine learning techniques
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
· Strong leadership and team management abilities
· Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
· Proficiency in actuarial software and programming languages (e.g., Python, R)
· Deep understanding of insurance regulations and filing processes
Preferred Qualifications:
· Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or related field
· Experience with multiple lines of P&C insurance or reinsurance
· Knowledge of emerging technologies
The base salary for this role can range from $225K - $275K, based on a full-time work schedule. An individual’s ultimate compensation will vary depending on job-related skills and experience, geographic location, alignment with market data, and equity among other team members with comparable experience.
