This is a unique opportunity to provide vision and leadership to faculty at a major research-intensive university who are nationally and internationally recognized for innovative research and teaching in the field of pharmaceutical sciences and its many disciplines.We advance basic, translational, and clinical research across the spectrum of drug discovery and development, and are proud of our collaborative initiatives and programmatic endeavors. The Pharmaceutical Sciences department is comprised of complementary cutting-edge research programs and is home to several centers of excellence: Computer Aided Drug Design, Mass Spectrometry, Bio- and Nano-technology, and Metallotherapeutics. Notably, the Center for Excellence in Regulatory Science and Innovation, and Center for Research on Complex Generics are both FDA-funded Centers. These, together with state-of-the-art facilities in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), High-Throughput Screening, and Applied Pharmaceutics, support the collaborative interdisciplinary research.The department consists of 28 faculty members. The department has about 60 PhD students in its Pharmaceutical Sciences Graduate program, notably leading an NIH-funded IMSD Training Grant, and being a member of an NIH-funded Chemistry Biology Interface program.We seek applicants who will provide inspiration and leadership in research and teaching, demonstrating a strong record of leadership in research and professional activities.
