General Summary of the Position:

A Project Controls Analyst supports KEMRON's Corporate/Regional Operations/Individual Project Management staff in implementing BMPs for project financial and schedule analysis, progress reporting and risk evaluation and management. A Project Controls analyst works as part of a team within the Accounting Department and is a hybrid in-office/remote work position.

Essential FunctionsProvide post award project controls management, including baseline budget and schedule development and management, performance status reporting, baseline change control, risk management, earned value management guidance and tools.Support program integration, governance, formats, plan optimization, and project controls best practices.Monitor and control program compliance in respect of the project contractual obligations.Assist in ensuring quality assurance and conducting quality checks on Project Controls processes.

Additional Position Responsibilities

Support project management staff following award to develop project work breakdown structure, budgets, schedule of values, milestone payment schedule.Support the development of requirements for specific resource-loaded schedules.Work with Regional and project management staff to provide all financial and schedule performance support and oversight throughout the project life cycle.Conduct Root Cause Analysis for recurring project issues and work with project teams to implement corrective action.Assist with month-end closing tasks, which include reviewing active project purchase orders and service agreements for potential accruals, ensuring the accuracy of project contract values, prepare and submit billings as required, and participating in Estimate-At-Completion reviews.Support contact for Procurement, FCAs, & branch accountants for dynamics and procedural questions.Provide support to corporate management through project management requests for project data & reporting.Actively monitor planned cost and schedule metrics from approved bid documents against actuals.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must possess a thorough understanding of various contract types including T&M, CP, UR, and Fixed Price.Must be able to successfully work with all project management staff to accurately produce weekly/monthly reports in line with the project and company reporting calendar, providing details on progress, actuals, forecast and explanation of variances.Ability to ensure that project controls processes are consistently applied across projects.Ability to effectively manage an Earned Value Management database and collaborate with project teams to collect relevant data for evaluating project performance and progress.Knowledge of, and ability to, successfully run Quick Queries in Dynamics SL to gather and analyze data for variance analysis and data reconciliation with cost, revenue, and billing.Accurately develop cost and schedule reports for selected target projects.

Required Education, Training and Experience

Minimum of 2 years working with Microsoft Dynamics SLMinimum of 3 years of accounting work with a government contractor, federal or stateMinimum of 1 year cost accounting experienceIntermediate Excel proficiencyMicrosoft Projects and Primavera6 experience

Work Context/Physical/Mental Requirements

Must have the ability to work for prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk working on a laptop computer; occasionally for up to 3 hours at a time.Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information.Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology.Ability to compute, analyze, and interpret numerical data for reporting purposes.

Primarily works in an office setting, with scheduled remote workdays possible.Office environment is comprised of offices, hallways, conference rooms, warehouse.Ability to bend and stoop to reach all equipment and outlets.Must have the ability to move about to accomplish tasks or move from one office area to another within an office environment which includes traversing offices and hallways of approximately 50-100 steps at a time.

Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times.Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in an efficient manner.Must be able to assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of assigned tasks.

Ability to occasionally work after normal business hours and on weekends as required.Must understand and follow KEMRON SOPs for specific task(s).
