Transportation Engineer - Sheladia Associates Inc.We are currently seeking a

Transportation Engineer

for the Domestic Division in our headquarters office in Rockville, Maryland. As Transportation Engineer, you will actively participate in and work with drafting and road projects. This is a

senior-level

engineer position responsible for developing specs and plans for major projects and doing cost estimates for major roads and highways, amongst other related duties as required.Job Duties include but are not limited to:Prepare roadway/highway design work to local standards: horizontal and vertical alignment, roadway sections, intersection layout, sight distance determination, interchange layout, right of way, and construction plans.Prepare elements of various sizes of contract plans, specifications, and estimates: roadway sections, alignment/right of way plans, site preparation plans, roadway profiles, and maintenance of traffic plans.Prepare cost estimates using MS Excel and the Estimator software, utilizing the RS Means database and other client-required software.Draft priced technical proposals per the Request for Proposal (RFP) or Proposed Change Orders (PCO) as they arise.Manage junior and mid-level engineers and provide guidance and technical assistance as necessary.Other duties as needed.Qualifications

Professional Engineering (PE) License in the State of Maryland (MD).Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) license.Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.10+ years of relevant work experience.Familiarity with performing traffic analysis using Synchro modeling.Proficiency in Civil 3D Software.Proficiency in OpenRoad / InRoad / Microstation Software.Strong capability with specifications writing and drafting for Montgomery and Prince George’s County, MD, and District of Columbia, DOTs.Proficiency in MS Office Suites.Proficiency in Adobe Software.Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu Software.Strong project management skills and leadership capability including tracking project budget and internal workload management.Interpersonal skills and ability to communicate well with clients and provide quality service.Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.Additional Skills (but not Required):Proficiency in languages other than English.Additional Information
