Through our talented staff and “LEAP” career framework (Leadership, Empowerment, Accountability, Personal Growth), we are committed to a people-first approach that fosters trust, inclusion, growth, and development for all.The Vanderbilt YMCA is seeking a Teen Coordinator who, under supervision of the Teen Director, will lead the management and implementation of all teen programs at the Vanderbilt branch. Position responsibilities include assisting the Teen Director in the management of staff, program development, outreach and recruitment as well as key community partnerships such as local schools. Impact of teen programs will be carefully measured and monitored for continuous improvement. Teen programs take place during the school year concurrent with the school day, afterschool hours and Saturday evenings. Teen programs may also take place during the summer on Saturday evenings. The Teen Coordinator will assist with supervising all teen travel, including overnight and multi-day trips.Key Responsibilities:Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of children in the program by providing close supervision of all activities.Manage administrative data entry, in various systems including Youth Service.NET, AS400, coordination of participant paperwork, conducting program surveys, and all other requirements outlined by City agencies and in the YMCA’s Teen Standards.Planning, coordination, and implementation of program registration, program workshops, and special events with support from part-time teen counselors.Assist in the marketing and distribution of program information; help to compile program statistics.Help to develop, implement, and monitor program budget to meet fiscal objectives.Establish and maintain links with service providers in a range of settings including other CBOs, schools, and partnerships.Attend designated meetings, training sessions and special events related to teen programming.Participate in Branch Fundraising/Annual Support Campaign.Act as the liaison to YMCA of Greater New York about teen issues.Provide support to the Teen Director regarding staff management and scheduling.Manage adolescent behavior with respect, maturity, compassion, and encouragement.Create and support an environment that is diverse, culturally sensitive, and relevant to the needs of teens.Desired Skills & Experience:High School diploma or equivalent required. College credits in the field of Education or Social Work desired.Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with teens/youth and planning activities.Must be 21 years of age or older.General knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Strong interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, and comfortable working with multi-cultural youth and adults.Benefits:The YMCA of Greater New York offers a variety of benefits to its staff members including retirement benefits, medical, paid time off, free YMCA membership, and more!
