The role will provide oversight to 5-7 Operating Units (OU), including manufacturing plants across the United States. The role reports to the VP – Operations, Food & Beverage Merchandising.Key Responsibilities:Establish employee safety as the top priority across the Operating Unit.Build an Operating Unit culture based upon operational excellence by relying upon standardized systems, reliable equipment performance, and adherence to process (as defined by the Pactiv Evergreen Production System).Apply principles of lean manufacturing, as appropriate, to improve key business metrics across the Operating Unit via continuous improvement advancements, waste elimination (first pass yield and Kaizen), and root cause analysis.Optimize Operating Unit performance (overall equipment efficiency/OEE) by maximizing labor efficiency while minimizing scrap and achieving the required product quality.Partner with commercial and R&D staff to identify opportunities for improvement in cost of manufacturing and product performance.Direct the Operating Unit management teams by empowering, enabling, and developing people to work effectively together as teammates.Ensure a collaborative culture is established across the Operating Unit where employees are held accountable while being coached and encouraged to reach their full potential.Build and maintain a strong team of Operating Unit leaders through effective recruiting, training, and development of the leadership bench.Develop a clear operational strategy for each manufacturing plant in the Operating Unit in support of the Operating Unit operational goals that is fully aligned with the overarching business unit priorities.Communicate the business vision and direct the change management effort across the Operating Unit.Develop strong, collaborative cross-functional relationships across all levels of the organization including the plant management teams, Business Unit management team, and the Executive Leadership Team.QualificationsA BA/BS degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field is required. MBA preferred.A minimum of 10 years of experience, preferably in Operations within a highly-respected manufacturing organization. Multi-plant management experience is required.Successful implementation of operational strategies and initiatives that have improved operational performance and bottom-line profitability.High-energy with a creative approach to problem solving, strong analytical skills, and be a team player with exceptionally strong leadership skills.Excellent judge of talent with a proven track record of attracting top performers and mentoring employees as their careers advance through the organization.Ability to multi-task effectively while working across multiple layers of the organization.Ability to function as a strategic thinker without losing sight of the critical details is required.Ability to travel up to 70%.This position is eligible for an annual incentive bonus, 401(k) plan with no waiting period and dollar for dollar match up to 6% and immediate vesting, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, flexible spending and health savings accounts, paid time off, paid parental leave, up to nine paid Holidays and two floating Holidays, wellness program, tuition reimbursement, and family care benefits.
