Mossville-IL, Pontiac-IL or Lafayette-INWhat you will do:Serve as the trusted advisor for assigned supply base.Assess potential suppliers via on-site Quality Audits process control implementation and effectiveness. Validate process capability.Drive implementation of Lean, BIQ, and APQP.Continuously review production readiness through rigorous review of Supplier APQP elements.Collaborate with suppliers to assure proper process control standards are in place and continuously monitor key manufacturing processes for improvement opportunities.Provide technical support during start-up activities and provide ongoing strategic support.Will be responsible for the supplier’s processes from design concept to the end of the product life.Review APQP documentation and participate in APQP Process Control Documents for suppliers’ manufacturing processes.Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of technology developments and trends for guidance of commodity teams in advancements of design, quality, and manufacturing.Support and participate in 6 Sigma initiatives with facilities, category teams, and suppliers.Responsible for the review, approval, and validation of 8D permanent corrective action plans.Participate in the development of Supplier quality metrics.Coordinate with engineering personnel on matters regarding Concurrent Product and Process Development (CPPD), New Product Introduction (NPI), Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) teams; prove design to production, engineering changes, deviations, supplier designs, specification approvals, meeting cost reduction goals, and participate in the Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) process with suppliers manufacturing processes.Education:Bachelor’s degree related to Quality, Engineering/Technology, or similar with 5 or more years of relevant experience OR an Associate’s degree in Quality, Engineering/Technology, or similar with 7 or more years of relevant experience OR 10+ years of relevant professional experience.Skill Descriptors:Effective Communications:

Knowledge of PPAP elements, submissions, and objectives.Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies:

Knowledge of organizational standards, procedures, and policies in manufacturing.Supplier Management - MFG:

Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships with suppliers.Supplier Evaluations and Certification:

Knowledge of supplier evaluations and certification methods.Top Candidates May Have:Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology, or similar.American Supply Quality (ASQ) quality certification.Experience with Fuel Systems components and/or assemblies.Experience with machining, grinding, lapping, EDM, etc. and/or assembly.APQP knowledge.Engineering or manufacturing background with familiarity in relevant processes.Knowledge of shop operations and maintenance procedures.Good human relations/communication skills and leadership skills.Ability to use and demonstrate statistical and problem-solving tools.Additional Information:This position can be located in Mossville-IL, Pontiac-IL or Lafayette-IN.
