Position:SSOE is looking to hire a

Sr. Project Manager

to join our team with a facilities design-build environment. This person will provide engineering design project management for a portfolio of projects from initial concept through startup. The projects this person will be engaged on will range in size, scope, and complexity; no two projects are alike, and each will bring its own unique challenge and solution. Partnering with our seasoned project teams, this person will identify, understand, and manage the scope of work, schedule, and budget of various design packages. This person will also coordinate with various disciplines within the organization (architectural, electrical, mechanical, process/chemical, structural, etc.) and will be an integral part of problem-solving complex design challenges. This position will be a hybrid position, requiring you to provide occasional onsite work and be located in the Hillsboro, OR area. Remote work arrangements for this role are not available.

Responsibilities:

Identify, understand, and manage the scope of work, schedule, and budget of various design packages, such as HVAC system upgrades, process equipment installations, and structural modifications.

Collaborate with Discipline Leads and Department Managers to define project scope, develop design concepts, allocate tasks, and align staff capabilities with project requirements. Ensure effective communication channels are established to meet project objectives.

Lead and coordinate meetings and establish all design document flow and document control with client, contractors, regulatory agencies, and others involved.

Develop comprehensive project budgets and work schedules as key monitoring tools for tracking progress. Proactively adjust plans to align with budgetary and scheduling goals.

Prepare the project execution plan, establish control procedures, monitor progress, and take corrective action as may be required.

Follow established change management procedures to document and receive authorization for project change orders in a timely manner.

Lead and facilitate client contact and business development activities.

Perform field verifications/site walks to identify, verify, resolve, and incorporate solutions into design packages. May actively troubleshoot and resolve complex design problems in the field during construction, ensuring seamless project execution.

Develop and oversee the training and mentorship of fellow Project Managers to enhance their understanding of SSOE's practices and client-specific needs, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable project management team.

Qualifications:

University degree in an engineering/technical field, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills. Previous project management experience in a design/build environment is a plus.

Project Management certification (PMP) is highly desired.

Proficiency with MS Project or other scheduling software required.

Ability to resolve issues that involve gaining agreement of cross-functional groups and working through issues by gaining consensus and facilitating a collaborative environment.

This position will be part of a design-build environment, so experience with industrial, advanced technology, or high-tech manufacturing facility design is highly preferred.

Experience performing field verifications and site walks to identify, verify, resolve, and incorporate solutions into design packages. Ability to troubleshoot design problems in the field.

Salary Range: $130,000 - $170,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
