Position Summary
ProjectCorps, a leading business and technology consulting and professional services firm in Seattle, seeks Senior Business Analysts that will provide effective guidance, experience and leadership to both business and IT teams in the implementation and support of programs and projects. This includes the evaluation of solutions, analysis and documentation of requirements, creation of system specifications, configuration and testing of solutions, and deployment to the business. Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on both the end-user needs and a thorough understanding of the business system, application and industry requirements. Operates as a liaison between technical personnel, the project manager, and the appropriate end-user department. Evaluates and translates end user needs and problems to technical associates and/or vendors where appropriate. Understands the business implications of technical solutions and assists in defining and documenting the technology solutions to support any future business needs. Teaches end users new technology and enhancements using all appropriate communication tools as well as providing support for existing system.
Principal Accountabilities
May lead a team of business analysts working on one or multiple projects; provides hands-on support to the analysts when required
Works with the project/program manager on strategic planning for business requirements gathering and business process analysis
Conducts business process analysis, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefits analyses in an effort to align information technology solutions with business/functional needs and initiatives.
Works with end users, system integrators and vendors to define and analyze problems and align the most suitable technical, application or configuration solutions
Solicits, develops, documents and manages requirements (and/or provides oversight) and provides detailed design and business rules to support the requirements throughout the project life cycle
Considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment.
Reviews system test plans and system tests modules before implementation. Provides use cases for testing and manages the user acceptance testing process.
Creates, reviews and delivers end-user documentation (user guide, process flow charts, training materials) and training.
Ensures that documentation is updated when change requests are approved for the project.
Provides input on processes, procedures and configuration changes
Required Skills & Experience
8-10 years’ experience supporting business requirements gathering and business process analysis for enterprise-wide software projects or programs.
3-5 years’ experience leading business analysis teams
Solid understanding of best practice business analysis processes & artifacts.
Ability to understand and foresee implications of decisions.
Exceptional ability to lead diverse business users to decisions on standardizing processes and product configuration.
Solid experience working with software vendors and system integrators, particularly on software cloud solutions.
Ability to analyze and categorize issues in the context of organizational and functional objectives.
Demonstrable project management experience.
Extensive experience moving end users from manual to automated processes.
Problem Solving:
Applies research, gathering, analytical and interpretation skills to problems of diverse scope.
Applies analytical skills to evaluate and interpret complex situations/ problems using multiple sources of information.
Presents problem analysis and recommended solutions in a creative and logical manner.
Facilitates the creation of new procedures and processes to drive desired results.
Handles diverse range of issues that require evaluation of a variety of factors
Guidance:
Works with minimal direction.
Work is guided by the project/program manager in consideration of operational and project objectives.
Ability to independently determine business analysis approach for a large program/project
Ability to work cooperatively with the project/program manager
Anticipates and prevents potential problems.
Independently develops solutions that are thorough, practical, and consistent with functional or customer objectives.
Responsible for specific programs, customers and/or projects.
Provide technical guidance or influence the work of others.
