Global Trade Compliance Specialist
to join our team. This position focuses on implementing international trade compliance activities into daily business operations, conducting compliance assessments, and working with a variety of internal stakeholders to ensure that the proper processes, procedures, and authorizations are in place.In this role, the specialist will function as a strategic business partner that enables MRAS’s business and accelerates MRAS’s global growth by providing expert guidance on complex trade requirements and regulations. This position will collaborate with stakeholders to solve problems, offer innovative solutions, and translate regulatory policies to advance MRAS’s long-term objectives.Global Trade Compliance Specialist Responsibilities include the following:Act as primary trade controls contact with the parent company and stakeholders ensuring communication and collaboration.Serve as the designated Empowered Official responsible for ensuring compliance with U.S. trade control laws and regulations, including but not limited to ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and Customs.Identify each function impacted or involved in trade control related activities and utilize a process to ensure that proper jurisdiction/classifications have been assigned and are being maintained and managed.Stay current with evolving trade regulations, tariffs, and sanctions to ensure all import and export activities comply with applicable laws and regulations.Ensure the performance of export and import transactions (e.g., hardware, software, technical data, and defense services) are conducted in a compliant manner.Implement a process to ensure authorizations are planned for in advance, obtained, and properly activated before use and deploy a recordkeeping management and reporting process for required records and reports.Monitor compliance activities, assist with self-assessments, and ensure potential noncompliance issues are addressed.Analyze applicability of global trade control requirements to business programs.Develop and deploy regulatory documentation for business programs which may include multiple agencies and authorization types.Partner on initiatives in a collaborative environment.Ensure accurate classification of goods under Harmonized System (HS) codes and correct valuation for duties and taxes calculation.Liaise with customs authorities, couriers' agents, and other external departments regularly to facilitate smooth trade flows.Job RequirementsBachelor's degree with 4+ years experience in role directly related to trade compliance, import and export regulations (ITAR/EAR), customs brokerage, freight forwarding/logistics, or global trade controls and integrating cross functional teams.
