This position is responsible for deploying a robust HSE management system and providing direction and guidance in the HSE strategy across their respective Power Delivery Regions (West Region). The HSE Director will be tasked with ensuring that the HSE Management System is implemented across the business and is scalable to accommodate anticipated growth and ensure HSE has a heightened profile in line with all strategic objectives of the business. The HSE Director is responsible for leading and evaluating a strong HSE field professional team, ensuring HSE subject matter experts are providing premier support to their respective area. This position will be based in California (Lake Forest or Fresno) supporting the West Region in Power Delivery Operations.Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:Develop and administer segment accident, loss prevention and environmental programs and provide programs and guidance to Business Units to meet Segment HSE goals.Coordinate with operations management in development/deployment of specific safety and environmental programs and procedures to meet their safety and environmental responsibilities and requirements.Provide direction in interpreting and implementing safety policies and procedures, and in matters relating to loss prevention techniques and standards compliance.Evaluate, develop, and manage efforts to mediate safety and environmental concerns/issues, e.g., accidents, agency inspections, client requests, etc., to ensure appropriate response.Ensure that management receives timely and concise notification of incidents and provide follow-up information until the issue is satisfactorily resolved.Assist and ensure that all business units within their scope of responsibility understand safety responsibilities and accountability for safety and environmental performance. Communicate with their personnel and hold them accountable for the consistent administration and enforcement of company policies and procedures to meet segment safety and cost of insurance goals.Ensure that formal incident review meetings are held, that critical issues are properly resolved and that appropriate action plans are developed and participate in any of these activities, as necessary.Direct and/or assist with the required documentation and maintenance of information and see that the required reports are completed in a timely and concise manner.Direct and coordinate the preparation of routine safety performance reports, review accident performance and trends, and assist operations in implementing appropriate corrective action plans.Support the corporate drug and alcohol policy, including coordination of random testing, substance abuse awareness training, and overseeing test result confidentiality with our HR Department.Develop and monitor the effectiveness of various safety and environmental training and education programs and assist in conducting such programs as required.Coordinate with and assist the Claims Manager and/or company insurance carrier in obtaining specific information as requested.Manage the personnel of the Business Segment’s HSE Department to ensure safety personnel requirements are met; also coordinate the career development and performance reviews of Department personnel.Lead cultural safety improvement initiatives and contribute to the development and implementation of all corporate safety standards and programs.Educational & Minimum Requirements

Required Qualifications:Minimum of 4 years of experience in the power or natural gas utilities construction industry.Minimum of 4 years of experience in a Safety leadership role.Ability to prioritize high volume workload to meet tight and changing deadlines.Accuracy and attention to detail are vital.High level of integrity and professionalism required.Must be a good collaborator/Influencer, able to work with co-workers, different departments and outside contacts and maintain strong relationships.Strong written and verbal communication skills essential to convey contract-related information or regulatory requirements to stakeholders.Be a courageous leader able to communicate expectations at all levels of the organization and hold others accountable for following PSC’s HSE Standards, Mission, and Values.Travel is required – approximately 50-70%.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Safety or related field or equivalent years of experience.Power Delivery Experience.A Point of Contact to your career next step, we are standing by my friend:
