The

Director of Logistics

is responsible for Distribution, Fulfilment and Logistics functions, ensuring the delivery of expected results as agreed upon and stated within the annual business plan and budgets. Develop logistics strategies, business plans and procedures to ensure expectations of internal and external stakeholders will be met. Oversee all aspects of transportation and distribution operations including product inventory, shipping and receiving across US and Canadian 3PL facilities.

As our Director of Logistics, your responsibilities will include:

As a member of the ECCO Americas team, work to collaboratively manage the daily business within the confines of the budget and/or business plan. Ensure items outside of the budget and/or business plan or those that may present a risk to the business are elevated to the Executive level.

Develop and maintain a distribution strategy, including footprint and optimized processes, that will enable the company to meet the demands of the customers/consumers across all points of distribution.

Ensure alignment of local supply chain practices and procedures with ECCO global supply chain.

Manage the relationships and contracts with the company’s logistics vendors, including 3PLs, international and domestic freight companies.

Ensure that all activity is in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and the company’s by-laws, as well as in accordance with ECCO’s culture, strategies, and policies and procedures.

Ensure an ongoing focus towards creating and maintaining efficiencies in all processes and procedures (including inbound deliveries, inventory management, outbound shipments, etc.), all with a focus on cost control and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Ensure proper processing of returns and take immediate action to address backlogs that may develop.

Coordinate with 3PLs and Demand Planning for yearly/monthly DC capacity planning for inbound, outbound and storage.

Responsible to ensure that all importing and exporting of goods is done in compliance with customs regulations, while also focusing on efficiencies and cost control.

Design and develop key metrics and reports that monitor the effectiveness of the department and achievement of goals, and take appropriate action as needed.

Stay up-to-date with best practices within areas of responsibility and the industry.

Support distribution, logistics, and order fulfillment activities throughout ECCO Americas as needed.

Support the US Managing Board in connection with special projects.

Effectively manage and develop subordinate staff, providing for coaching and professional development opportunities as appropriate.

If you have…

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or related field (Master’s degree preferred) – or equivalent relevant work experience.

10+ years of experience in a logistics role, with a minimum of 5 years at the management level.

Footwear/apparel or other consumer goods industry preferred.

Experience with developing a US distribution strategy and network, including identification of and integration with third party logistics (3PL) vendors.

Experience working with a global company with a vertically integrated supply chain preferred.

Experience working with Transport vendors within the US but also inbound shipments from abroad.

Knowledge of US Customs regulations, import/export requirements, duties and US Customs broker management.

Ability to identify and execute process improvements designed to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.

Ability to set strategic and tactical direction, and think with innovation and creativity.

High sense of integrity and acute business acumen.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.

Strong negotiation and analytical skills.

Ability to interact and influence at a global level.

Excellent organization, prioritization and multi-tasking skills.

Ability to analyze and influence budgets.

Advanced skills with MS Excel, proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint.

Advanced skills in WMS tools/systems, SAP preferred.

Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or long hours when necessary.

Ability to read, write and speak English at a proficient level.

Ability to travel up to 50%, both domestic and internationally.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis.
