Duties and Responsibilities:Coordinates services and operates a multitude of media based technology for classroom instruction, conferences, and special events on campus.Works with campus facility coordinator to ensure timely set up and operation of audio and visual technology for campus events and conference rooms. Ensure media systems are fully functioning.Develops and modifies system procedures, training materials, troubleshooting guides, and operational guidelines as appropriate.Prepares cost estimates and recommendations for purchase of supplies, tools and materials. Ensures adequate supply of replacement parts and other essential inventory.Collaborates with instructors to support educational technology needs, recommends alternatives and solutions.Conceives, plans, and designs components/systems of moderate scope and complexity.Provides controls for multimedia presentations, and performs trouble restoration to maintain network integrity and prevent disruption of instructional delivery.Participates in advanced design work in the development of new or improved systems, sub-systems, equipment, and/or tests.Works independently to perform complex troubleshooting, service, upgrade, and maintenance of equipment. Maintains accurate records.Prepares for and conducts system testing of distance education classroom equipment, provides rehearsal and training support as requested. Responds to calls for assistance during classroom sessions.Provides proactive system monitoring, testing and fault identification, implement upgrades as needed.Communicates effectively to train student assistants, faculty and staff in the proper use and specialty procedures for a variety of multimedia equipment.Supervises, directs, and schedules student assistants.Keeps current with multimedia and collaboration technology.Assignments may involve travel to off-campus sites and evening and weekend hours.Other duties as assigned.* Denotes Essential Functions

Minimum Qualifications:Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Educational Technology, Creative Media, Communication Video Production, Media Communication, or related field and 3 years of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for the coordination, designing, production and/or operations of multimedia systems; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.Considerable working knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the area of multimedia based services, technology, and/or production as demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts, principles and methodologies.Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations and theories and systems associated with delivery of media based services.Demonstrated ability to resolve wide ranging complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the cause of the problems and the resolution of the problems in an effective, innovative and timely manner.Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer, apply word processing software.If applicable, for supervisory work, demonstrated ability to lead subordinates, manage work priorities and projects, and manage employee relations.Ability to work evenings, weekends, and/or travel to off-campus locations.

Desirable Qualifications:Related experience at a community college or other educational institution.
