Global Operations Director

The Global Operations Director is responsible for overseeing and enhancing our manufacturing operations across all global sites. This role is crucial in scaling operations, ensuring strategic alignment with corporate objectives, and driving significant growth initiatives including the establishment of new manufacturing sites.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operations Leadership
Lead the planning and execution of new product introductions, ensuring a smooth transition to full-scale production while meeting cost targets and customer expectations.
Direct and coordinate operations across plants globally.
Develop and implement consistent operational procedures and practices globally, including manufacturing processes, safety protocols, and quality control measures.
Oversee the distribution of resources (human, capital, and materials).
Advocate for and implement environmental, health, and safety (EHS) best practices across all sites.
Serve as the point of escalation for critical operational issues.
Capacity Management & Strategy
Develop and execute a comprehensive 3-year operational plan for each business unit.
Lead strategic initiatives, including the expansion of existing facilities and the establishment of new sites.
Forecast demand for resources based on requirements and organizational objectives.
Monitor global resource utilization and identify opportunities to optimize capacity.
Financial Accountability
Oversee the creation and management of budgets for all operations globally.
Manage P&L statements for all global sites.
Implement cost control measures to reduce cost and enhance profitability.
Identify financial risks and implement risk mitigation strategies.
KPI/Metric Management
Develop, implement, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics.
Foster a culture of punctuality and reliability across all operational sites.
Regularly review KPI performance with plant managers and Ops leaders.
Reporting & Communication
Implement a system for monitoring the performance of each site against set operational and financial targets.
Collect, analyze, and report on data related to productivity, efficiency, cost, and quality.
Cross-Functional and Cross Site Collaboration
Work across functional teams to ensure requirements are understood and solutions are developed effectively.
Facilitate communication and collaboration across sites to foster a culture of collaboration.
Quality & Compliance
Develop and maintain quality standards aligned to international best practices.
Manage the process for acquiring and maintaining ISO certification.
Ensure compliance with customer audits and global agency standards.
Stakeholder Management and Customer Support
Maintain visibility of end customer adoption of next generation interconnect products.
Gather feedback from stakeholders regarding performance, outcomes, and areas for improvement.
Team Leadership and Development
Lead and inspire a team of operations directors and program managers at multiple global sites.
Establish clear, measurable individual and team development goals.
Promote a culture of diversity and inclusion within the operations team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 15 years in manufacturing management with rich knowledge of electronic or mechanical parts.
University degrees in Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Science or Engineering Management.
Proven track record of building manufacturing organizations.
Possesses knowledge of ISO 9001 & 1400 and common manufacturing improvement methodologies.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to document requirements.
Ability to travel 40-50%.
