100% Remote, Payroll Specialist

to support our Head Quarters in McLean, Virginia.

Location: 100% Remote

Position Overview:The Payroll Specialist is responsible for supporting the company's Finance and HR Departments in accounting and payroll reconciliation, including expenses. This requires preparation, distribution, processing, and the reporting of payroll timesheet reports to ensure accuracy of payroll and compliance with all applicable regulations.

The Payroll/Accounting Specialist will work closely to manage the Costpoint timekeeping system, and all things related to timekeeping, payroll reporting and employee accounts. This includes gathering, organizing, and preparing all expense data from employees during the payroll period for expense reimbursement and to assure organization for company invoicing.

Responsibilities:

Payroll preparation on a semi-monthly basis:Collecting, auditing, and tracking of employee expensesGovernment travel regulation policy adherenceEnsure all corporate credit card charges are accounted for on expense reportsInteract with employees to obtain accurate information for expense and payroll processing

Exporting reports from Costpoint and reconciling with HR payroll reportsManaging workflow to ensure all transactions are completed, accurate and on time for payroll submission

Work with HR to ensure state compliance with taxes and payroll reporting are accurateSet up/Assist/Train New Hires expense reporting processActs as Costpoint liaison for employees when there are log-in issues with timesheetsMaintain accurate records in all systemsGenerate reports as required by managementMaintain contract documentation needed to track/record/invoice customers as assignedAudit costs/compile invoices in a timely and accurate mannerAssist in Year End Processing; assist other departments/teams as necessarySupport for the basic functions of the officeAssist with state corporate tax filing and corporate registrationPerforms other duties as assigned by management.

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent practical experience in accounting related fieldMinimum of two (2) years of relevant accounting experience in a government contracting environmentMinimum of two (2) years of experience with Costpoint Time and Expense systemKnowledge of certified payroll regulations and reporting requirements, under both the Davis-Bacon Act and the Service Contract ActKnowledge of and familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations preferredExperience with UKG Payroll Platform (hard requirement), ADP WFN (preferred)
