In the role of Senior Multimodal Planner, we'll count on you to:Provide transportation planning services for transit, highway, state agencies, cities and countiesLead project tasks and small/medium projects including corridor studies, transit plans, bike and pedestrian plans, transportation demand management (TDM) plans, multimodal analysis, and other transportation planning effortsCollect project-related data as needed, which may include research, interviews with government agencies and clients, map reviews, land use surveys, and socioeconomic analysisAssimilate, analyze, and manage dataDevelop GIS and graphic maps suitable for reports and final documentsDevelop project presentations and communicate complex transportation planning concepts in a simple and relatable mannerDevelop project graphics and visuals (SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)Lead the preparation and internal quality control process of technical reports and memorandumsSupport business development efforts and client relationships (with the support of senior staff)Support public information meetings and hearingsPerform other duties as neededLead the planning and implementation of multimodal transportation projects, including public transit, cycling, walking, and emerging mobility optionsWork together with local and regional partners to create innovative transportation plans that improve connectivity and promote environmental sustainability.Conduct and supervise research, data analysis, and modeling to provide insights for transportation planning decisions.Advocate for creative and enduring transportation solutions through engaging the public and developing policies.

Preferred Qualifications15+ years of relevant planning experienceProficiency in MS Office, ArcGIS Pro, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesignFamiliarity with GISUnderstanding of multimodal planning and land use principlesUrban and Regional Planning ExpertiseTransportation PlanningLeadership and Project ManagementUnderstanding of Data Analysis and ModelingPolicy Development and AdvocacyProblem-Solving and Critical ThinkingFamiliarity with transportation regulations and funding mechanismProficiency in transportation planning tools and softwareAICP or AICP CandidatePreference given to local candidatesSustainability and Environmental PlanningSmart City TechnologiesUnderstanding of Public Transit OperationsUnderstanding of Funding and Grant WritingInterdisciplinary CollaborationConflict ResolutionFamiliarity with regional transportation challenges in the Southeastern United States

Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Planning, Engineering or a related fieldA minimum of 10 years' experience with transportation planningPossess excellent analytical and communication skillsUnderstanding of transit planning principlesPositive attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a teamDemonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and personnelSolid business development skills; demonstrated ability to relate well to clients; and demonstrated presentation skillsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
