Job Description SummaryCollaborates with senior sponsors to create and execute a strategy for a portfolio of products in the back office for a hedge fund/private equity fund administrator. The product portfolio includes but is not limited to accounting, invoice operations (accruals/payments), financial/regulatory reporting, investor servicing, transfer agency and partnership accounting. Compiles and maintains a multi-year strategic roadmap and manages closely to target milestone dates. Serves as a key escalation point for project delays.The team works directly with business stakeholders, project managers, software engineers, designers, quality assurance engineers and scrum master's to facilitate the execution of software development. This role is a key enabler of collaboration between these groups.Manages professional staff of varying levels – may be fairly senior – associate specialists and specialists. Accountable for the performance and results of a team within own area of specialty. Achieves goals mostly through work of others and self-execution. Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. Decisions and problem solving are guided by policies, procedures and department plan; receives guidance from practice lead. Provides guidance to partners, colleagues and/or clients.Job DescriptionMajor Duties:• Defines and executes against a software development product plan that accomplishes the strategic goals determined by senior management for back office fund administration within the hedge fund business at Northern Trust

• Carefully manages the scope of projects to ensure minimum viable product is met and iterative value is realized• Manages a senior group of product owners that are subject matter experts in the back-office business as well as the technology being used. Sets developmental plans for each member and provides timely coaching to develop and hone their skillsets.• Closely monitors progress of software development and escalates to the practice lead as milestones are put at risk due to program impediments

• Responsible for coordinating the resolution of government compliance and attempts to minimize the systemic risks of offering a solution. Works closely with Operations, Risk and Compliance and Technology to identify all mitigating risk measures and ensures their implementation

• Identifies and solves technical and operational problems; understands and recognizes broader impact across the department

• Guided by policies and departmental plan, impacts the team’s ability to achieve service, quality and timeliness of objectives

Knowledge:• Strong client servicing and presentation skills. Strong ability to influence at all levels of organization to ensure delivery.

• Proven leadership skills including charisma, collaboration and empathy.

• Strong organizational skills in order to effectively execute and escalate delays.

• Proven track record in leading and managing successful teams.

• Applies understanding of the business and how own area integrates with others to achieve departmental objectives

• Guides and influences others either internally or externally to adopt a different point of view

Experience:• 8-10 years in the asset servicing/ asset management industry with minimum 5 years in a Product Management role
