The Grid Analytics Program Manager for Austin Energy will play a pivotal role in shaping our energy future by enabling data driven decision making through the utilization of grid edge data. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned data science practitioner who pairs an analytical mindset with problem-solving skills, leveraging a strong background in data architecture, systems integration, machine learning, and data analytics and visualization.

Responsibilities

Develops and executes comprehensive data strategies aligned with business goals.

Oversees the architecture, integration, and availability of grid data stored across multiple platforms (cloud, hosted, on-premise).

Partners with Program Managers to define data requirements and align data strategies with program objectives.

Leads a team of direct reports and decentralized analysts, architects, and subject matter experts from across the utility to drive innovation and instill a data-driven-decision-making mindset.

Identifies opportunities to leverage data insights for process improvement.

Establishes and enforces grid data governance policies and procedures for the division.

Partners with Data Stewards to maintain data integrity and quality.

Establishes data request pipelines and intake systems to develop and deliver upon short-medium-long term projects.

Recommends data handling and storage solutions in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Participates in cross-functional utility/City data and technology governance teams.

Presents compelling data insights to executive leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a Program Manager role focused on data strategy and analytics, preferably in an electric utility environment.

Experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, and Data Analytics/Visualization Tools.

Experience in Enterprise Architecture.

Experience using programming/coding languages like R, Python, SQL, etc.

Experience with cloud-based data tools like Microsoft Azure, etc.

Experience with data visualization tools like PowerBI, Tableau, etc.

Experience presenting complex, technical content to a large, non-technical audience including executive management.
