The Classic Jerky Company is the Private Label Division of Jack Link’s Protein Snacks. Classic Jerky utilizes high-quality and innovative portfolios, best-in-class customer service, and our unbridled commitment to growing the category to be the premier supplier of Private Label Meat Snacks.

The primary purpose of this job is to grow the Classic Jerky Company direct customer business by adding new customers and growing the business with existing customers by expanding distribution breadth and depth, while acting as a general manager for the assigned region.

Responsibilities

Establish, develop and own business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned territory/market segment

Possess mindset of General Manager by owning entire sales process with customers (Business Award, On-Boarding, Shipment, Payment)

Utilize Sales Opportunity Funnel to track, engage and prioritize new business opportunities

Engage regularly with direct, in-person sales calls and make presentations to existing and prospective customers

Create and manage a customer sales plan for existing customers highlighting profile, share and value opportunities

Manage expenses to deliver both business results as well as EBITA/Budget goals. Submit all expense documentation in an accurate and timely manner.

Submit sales forecast by customer each period and modify regularly based upon changes within the business environment.

Utilize brokers, customer portals, and any additional tools and resources to maintain visibility toward upcoming charges, deductions, etc. that could impact financial performance.

Keep current with products, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends

Utilize market data (IRI, Nielsen, etc.) in fact based selling presentations

Deliver agreed to budgets, goals and objectives within the assigned territory

Work cross-functionally with all departments as it relates to customers within assigned territory

Coordinate and Manage Special Projects as assigned

Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience

Required Experience:

5+ years of CPG account management and related sales experience with an emphasis in Private Label.

Developing and executing multi-year strategic plans.

Strong analytical capabilities to identify trends, opportunities, and business insight.

Strong business acumen; specifically, with Trade Management and Demand Planning.

Expert skill level in Microsoft applications.

Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.

Effective problem-solving skills.

Goal oriented & well organized.

Excellent interpersonal skills needed for working cross-functionally with internal and external teams.

Ability to interface with multiple levels of an organization.

Be able to handle and make tough decisions on behalf of the company.

Proactive (high sense of urgency) and committed to delivering results in a fast paced, demanding work environment.

Travel as needed to support the business

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, and ABILITIES:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must work effectively with all levels of management and employees.

Must demonstrate effective leadership, problem solving, presentation, and employee motivational skills.

Proficient in Internet navigation, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
