Staff Accountant

This role is based on-site at our location in Vernon, CA

We are looking for a Staff Accountant with knowledge of corporate bookkeeping policies, auditing business ledgers, organizing invoices, and beginning the collections process for client accounts with past-due balances, contacting clients to arrange credit or alternate payment methods. This individual will help track payments and record any unique billing situations that fall outside of regular operations such as custom payment plans. They make banking deposits and run reports that document profits and losses, as well as assisting the Accounting department with ad hoc projects.

About the Role:

Key duties and responsibilities include:
  • Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Conduct regular account analysis and variance analysis to ensure accuracy and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure the proper controls exist for all accounting, payroll, and inventory procedures.
  • Credit and collections oversight for both factored and house accounts.
  • Oversight of all accounting functions including oversight of the controls involved in PO issuance, receiving, and any and all adjustments.
  • Work with HR with respect to payroll and benefits management.
  • Support the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and managing billing activities.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper recording of financial transactions and compliance with internal controls.
  • Assist with audits and tax filings as needed.
  • Stay updated on GAAP accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency.


Qualifications:
  • Three or more years of work experience as Accounting Manager, preferably within the apparel industry.
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
  • Great interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or related field.

Pay Range: $90,000 - $160,000 DOE
