Siemens Energy is looking for an experienced Project Manager - Industrial Equipment with hands-on industrial equipment expertise. The project manager is responsible for planning and overseeing planned activities from beginning to end. They balance budgets, keep track of work in progress, collaborate with suppliers, manage risks, and ensure projects are completed per schedule.

The selected candidate will work with engineering, drafting, supply chain management, manufacturing, quality, and shipping to ensure the overall scope of supply per the quotation proposals is achieved. The individual will manage large multi-faceted projects and multiple projects at the same time. The candidates will have the opportunity to communicate with all levels of the organization, for example, explaining requirements to skilled craftsmen, technically supporting the scope of supply to other professionals, or resolving customer concerns.

How You'll Make an Impact:
  • Take full ownership of the scope, budget, and schedule for assigned projects, and manage those constraints after the order award and through the end of the warranty period.
  • Develop project plans as necessary to implement the project successfully by monitoring and maintaining the master project timeline.
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and management to develop relationships that are conducive to the successful completion of the project. Conduct Lessons Learned meetings for all projects; identify corrective actions and best practices and solicit a Customer Satisfaction Survey for the contract closure process.
What You Bring:
  • Bachelor's of Science Degree is required; Degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • 8 years of experience in industrial equipment or related industries is required; candidates with more experience may be eligible for a more senior level role.
  • Prior project management experience and knowledge of schedule management tools (e.g. MS Project or equivalent) is required.
  • Proficiency in the application of computerized systems, including standard business applications (i.e. MS Office)
  • Experience dealing directly with urgent critical-path project items and key project results.
  • Candidate should be self-motivated, well-organized, have strong communication and problem solving skills.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
Specific Job Skills Preferred
  • Professional project management certification, such as Project Management Institute or IPMA (preferred).
  • Familiar with centrifugal and/or reciprocating compressors, gas, and/or steam turbines.
Additional Position Requirements:
  • Up to 25% on an annual basis is typical
  • Must have valid driver's license
  • Must have a current US passport or ability to obtain a US passport
Ability to travel by plane is required

This job may be based in New York. Siemens Energy offers a variety of health and wellness benefits including paid time off and holiday pay. Details regarding our benefits can be found here:

The base salary range for this position if based in New York is $105,000 - $160,000 and the annual incentive target is up to 15% incentive of base salary. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.
