Job Summary:

The Americas Legal Department is looking for a Derivatives lawyer with expertise in interest rate and FX derivatives. The candidate must have experience with project finance and other loan-linked ISDAs as well as have a solid understanding of the ISDA definitions. Must be familiar with Credit Support Annexes, guarantees, and ancillary ISDA documentation. The ideal candidate should be familiar with derivatives regulation and be a versatile and dynamic team player.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal advice and draft and negotiate documentation for Project Finance swaps and other loan-linked ISDAs.
  • Advise on Credit Support Annexes, guarantees, novation agreements, and other ancillary documentation.
  • Review and advise on industry netting opinions.
  • Advise on trade confirmations and related matters with respect to interest rate and FX derivatives.
  • Provide general support to other members of the legal team as required.
  • Participate in industry forums and working groups.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects.


We Require:
  • JD degree
  • 4+ years prior experience in derivatives gained in-house within a similar role or in private practice
  • An ability to look at unfamiliar or new product areas and be able to analyze the relevant issues
  • Ability to demonstrate a high degree of commercial awareness and to make sound judgment calls in a fast-moving business environment, together with an ability to identify and manage contractual risk
  • An ability to recognize problematic issues and to plan and execute strategies for addressing

The typical base pay range for this role is between $172K - $222K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
