Job Description Summary
This role reports direct to the Sr. Manufacturing Manager - Projects and Initiatives and is responsible for supporting business growth initiatives, including support of safety improvements, tool designs and overall manufacturing improvements.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Design, draft production tools, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Partner with EHS team to identify processes or equipment that can be improved to eliminate safety hazards.
  • Define and control production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment.
  • Specify and procure new equipment and tooling needed to meet production, quality and growth requirements.
  • Support NPI and TOW projects, and related equipment.
  • Team with production to identify processes or equipment that can be automated or otherwise improved to leverage productivity.
  • Lead small projects (day to day interactions with team)
  • Assist train/mentor team members


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience (preferably in tooling, fixture and equipment design)
  • Minimum of 3 year design software experience (ProE, AutoCad, SolidWorks)


Desired Characteristics:
  • Experience with tooling and fixture design and implementation.
  • Experience with production line layout, process flows & design improvement.
  • Recent experience in leading a small team (Team Engineering/Technical People Lead)
  • Experience in project management, planning, activity follow-up.
  • Experience in MS Office software including MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills are a must
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Ability to build relationships within the company at all levels and with customers and suppliers
