Days / 7a-7p, 12x4, 48 hrs per week, Every other weekendLength:
13 weeksRequirements:SD License2 years of ICU experience EXCLUDING travel experience is most preferredExperience with IV medications (vasopressors, sedation, paralytics), hemodynamic lines, proning, ventilator management, telemetry, strong critical thinking and assessment skills, working well in team setting, comfortable in fast pace setting with all critical patients.Minimum 1 prior travel assignmentEpic experienceBLSACLSNIHSSTNCCCompletion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursingImpella, IABP and CRRT – strongly preferredOther Details:Patient Ratios: RN: 1:1, 1:2, 1:3 (rare) – acuity dependentBeds: 39 – MICU, SICU, CICU, TICU – mixed unitICU RN qualified to float to EDTravelers must live 100 miles awayPatient Types: Complex ICU patients ranging from surgical, medical, cardiac (preferred), neuro and traumaDiagnoses include but are not limited to: ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, s/p cardiac cath, post-surgical, multiple system trauma – heavy trauma populationCardiac experience is preferred (not required): CABG/TAVR – 24 to 48 hrs post op experience is preferred but not required for travelersWill not take fresh open hearts unless they are experienced, and the facility felt comfortable with this – given to permanent staff Support on the Unit: CNA: 1-2 Nurse Aide’s per unit + mobility float aideCharge nurse: 2 CRN’s oversee all ICUsPhlebotomy? Yes, peripheral blood draws onlyIV/VAT Team? ICU CRNs place all midlinesResource Nurse: Yes, staffing dependentRT: Yes, 24/7Physicians: 3 Intensivists on days, 2 on nights + APP on nights
