This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of creative experts and become a part of our fast-growing in-house creative team. The Copywriter will be a key idea contributor and a master of words, telling our story across a variety of B2B and B2C channels. You will have a keen eye for brand guidelines, develop conceptual ideas, and maintain our brand voice and tone consistently. You’re always striving to understand more about the audience you’re writing for, the product you’re writing about, and why the two are perfect for each other.

Your work will stand out and make people want to do a double take. We’re talking high-quality content that challenges industry standards. Someone who can maintain consistency for the brand, while not being afraid to push it (ah, push it real good).

Outcomes and Activities:

  • This position will work from home; occasional planned travel to an assigned Southfield, Michigan office location may be required. However, this position is permitted to work at a Southfield, Michigan office location if requested by the team member.
  • Bring the brand to life
    You’ll be the words behind our brand’s voice. Craft compelling and innovative content that resonates with our audience and meets our marketing goals for various mediums, including digital, print, and video.

  • Create compelling copy
    Your words make a difference. Write clear, persuasive copy that tells our story, communicates key brand messages, and inspires action and engagement.

  • Keep it on brand
    Reflect our brand voice and style guidelines in everything you write. Maintaining consistency is what solidifies our brand and builds trust with our audience.

  • Polish your work
    Check to ensure your copy is grammatically correct, easy to understand, and delivers on the ask.

  • Adapt and optimize content
    Tailor copy to different platforms and formats, while optimizing for different audiences, brand voice, and marketing objectives.

  • Team collaboration: Participate in brainstorms with positive energy and creative thinking. Work closely with the Creative and Video teams and other stakeholders to develop and execute concepts.
  • Meet deadlines and prioritize work
    Manage your workload and deliver high-quality work within deadlines. Prioritize tasks based on business needs and keep the creativity flowing.

Knowledge and Skills

  • A pro at conceptual thinking and turning ideas into innovative, original, and effective campaigns that push creative boundaries while staying true to the brand.
  • The ability to maintain consistent brand voice, tone, and style across all communications, while also having the flexibility to adapt the tone when necessary for different campaigns or platforms.
  • An understanding of interpreting creative briefs and requests to develop concepts for execution.
  • Attention to detail and exceptional quality of craft (you can see the big picture, but also spot a missing comma).
  • A willingness to receive and give constructive feedback to continually refine and improve your work.
  • Flexibility to adapt depending on changing project requirements, feedback, and priorities while maintaining a high level of work.
  • A passion for creativity, innovation, and storytelling. 
  • A team player who adds value with a solution-oriented mindset and an affinity for growth.
  • A love of the Oxford Comma preferred (we’re supporters over here).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Advertising, Journalism, or Communications.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Copywriter, with a proven track record of creating compelling and effective copy.
  • A broad portfolio showcasing your work that demonstrates your ability to create innovative copy and tell a brand story across multiple channels.
  • A proven track record of developing and executing creative copy that tells a story and drives the brand message home.

Preferred:

  • Experience writing for B2B and B2C social channels.

Targeted Compensation: $73,000 - $85,000 base salary + an annual bonus plan.

This position is not currently open to individuals who require sponsorship now or in the future to work legally for Credit Acceptance, such as H-1b/ H-4 or F-1 OPT visa holders.
