Section 1: Position Summary

As a security engineer reporting to the Vice President of Security Engineering, you will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance, support, and advancement of our security solutions. You will collaborate across security teams such as threat, SOC, and architecture as well as adjacent IT teams to collect requirements, coordinate change management and be a point of contact for questions and support.

The individual hired for this position requires a passion for data protection, strong problem solving and analytics, documentation, communication, organizational skills, collaborative abilities, self-motivation, innovation, efficiency, and attention to detail.

Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Implement, maintain, and support security solutions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect requirements and implement changes to provide value to the users of the solutions.

Ensure solutions align with industry best practices, business obligations, and compliance requirements.

Proactively respond to solution needs such as required maintenance and troubleshooting problems.

Lead and participate in security-related projects, ensuring that project goals, timelines, and deliverables are communicated and achieved.

Section 3: Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements :

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.

2+ years experience in security engineering, system administration, or other related security fields.

Excellent understanding of network architectures, operating systems, cloud computing and security technologies.

Certifications such as Network+, Security+, Cloud+.

Experience implementing and maintaining two or more of the following technologies:

EDR

IDS / IPS

DLP

SSO & MFA

SIEM

CASB / SWG / SSAE

PAM

IAM

WAF

Network Segmentation

Experience performing system automation and integration using languages such as Python, PowerShell, and Bash.

In-depth knowledge of security principles, best practices, and frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, CIS Critical Controls, ISO 27001/2).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex security issues and provide effective solutions.

Solid experience in maintaining system documentation including configurations and operating procedures (SOPs).

Experience in performing Proof-of-Concepts / Proof-of-Values to support solution purchase decisions

Excellent communication s

Experience in a regulated industry, such as finance, healthcare, or government.
