The role will assess markets and identify opportunities within them that are aligned to Viasat's strategy - both for new products and existing ones. The opportunities will then be scoped during feasibility work before an outline proposition is built. The role will ensure that we are developing the most valuable propositions available and transitioning them to teams that will manage implementation.The day-to-day

Develop business cases for strategic projects and programs for Executive approval (multi-million dollar and multi-year), looking across the business portfolioDefine the propositions being proposed in Executive language (based on customer & tech team input)coordinate across the BUs/central teams to create the high level business caseEngage with Segments, Corporate teams and Markets to understand the opportunities related to the propositions. Objectively assess their likely market success given the competitive environment.Engage with customers and partners through insight team work and directly to determine the attractiveness of propositionsEngage with external partners on work related to strategic programs and projects working towards agreements or contracts.Feed into reporting and budgeting processes on strategic programsCreate financial models for opportunities to demonstrate business cases valueTransition strategy into execution in collaboration with Product, Engineering and Segment teamsWhat you'll need

Previous consultant with strong background in consulting with the following skill-sets and characteristics:Hypothesis ledAbility to manage projects within an organizationStrong influence skills (without hierarchical authority)Able to work to tight timescalesAbility to define a problem and then structure a path to a solutionSkilled at financial and commercial modeling in Excel, including options analysisData driven and able to articulate and communicate the message behind the dataExcellent written and presentational skills, for Exec levelReady, willing and ideally experienced at working across UK and West Coast time zonesTelco background. Satcom and networking knowledge a plus.What will help you on the job

Commercial experience in industry desirable i.e. able to quickly hone the constituents of commercial success/failure.

Salary range

$191,400.00 - $332,800.00 / annually
