We are partnered with a top General Contractor who has a phenomenal reputation in the New Jersey market, as well as regionally. They are on the search for someone who still wants to grow with a firm. You will use your expertise to secure work with current and new clients. The company has been in business for 50 years with a very strong pipeline of work in both public and private sector. They are looking to expand their construction team as part of their growth plan by hiring an Chief Estimator to oversee the department + take on some key responsibilities.Client DetailsOur client has been providing engineering, construction, & project management services to public & private clients across the Midatlantic for 50 years!DescriptionWorks with Operations Manager & Engineering to put together estimates on special projects.Generates proposals for selected projects.Obtains bidders lists for projects that have been scoped & estimated.Actively pursues bid projects with timely follow up & awareness of project status.Assists walk-in customers with project & product inquiries.Manage a team of 2 senior estimators and an estimating assistant.Solicit and maintain strong relationships with current and potential clientsPrepare and submit proposals, within time-frame and following up until closedFacilitate an effective hand-off to the project managerMonitor budgets throughout the construction processEvaluate and prepare pricing for change orders.Update & maintain accurate pipeline reports, track leads, bookings, forecasting, reportingBuild out a small department of other estimating professionalsFlexible enough to handle some project management dutiesAbility to lead from the frontUtilize technology to actualize on effective project and cost deliveryProfileBachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or Project Management preferred7+ years of experience with a general contractorWill be considered if you have experience in public/federal markets within the GC worldHands-on experience Estimating projects based off blue printsInterest in Estimating as a career - ambitious, motivated professionalsPrevious experience estimating large size projectsProficiency with estimating software and spreadsheet designAbility to perform both hard bid and conceptual bidsExcellent referencesWillingness to lead a team and mentor junior employeesExcellent communication skillsHard bid estimating experience preferredPublic and private experience preferredJob OfferCompetitive Compensation Package based on experiencePTO 3 weeksCompany holidaysStrong benefits401k Plan with company matchCell phone and laptop providedReferral bonusEnd of year bonusGenerous maternity & paternity leaveCompany wide events frequently - strong cultureMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
