Avyanna Technologies is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer for a 3-month contract in Bethesda, MD. This role offers the flexibility of telework; however, the candidate must be local to the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area. The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for supporting our development and operations teams in deploying, automating, and maintaining cloud-based environments.

Key Responsibilities:

As a DevOps Engineer at Avyanna Technologies, you will be responsible for:Collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline and optimize development, testing, and deployment processes.Managing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous integration and delivery of high-quality software.Automating infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and monitoring using tools such as Jenkins, Docker, GitHub Actions.Implementing and maintaining best practices for security, scalability, and performance in our systems.Troubleshooting and resolving production issues, ensuring high system availability and performance.Staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements and implement best practices.CI/CD Pipeline Management:

Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and/or Jenkins to automate software deployment and releases.Streamline the development process, ensuring code is built, tested, and deployed efficiently.Collaborate with development teams to integrate automated testing into the pipeline.Cloud Environment:

Experience with cloud environments such as Azure and Kubernetes Architecture using RedHat Open Shift to deploy, configure, and manage Application resources.Optimize Applications for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.Implement security best practices for cloud-based systems.Containerization and Orchestration:

Utilize Docker and Kubernetes to containerize applications and manage orchestration in a containerized environment.Collaborate on deploying and scaling applications using Kubernetes.Experience with Istio for service mesh is a plus.Automated Testing and Security:

Implement and maintain automated testing frameworks and tools to verify system functionality, performance, and security.Integrate Testing and security scanning tools and practices into the CI/CD pipeline, wherever applicable.Collaborate with security teams to remediate vulnerabilities.Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:Must meet all requirements for obtaining and maintaining a Public Trust Clearance.Minimum 5 years of experience with DevOps in an Operations environment.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer in a production environment.Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline tools like GitHub Actions and Jenkins.Strong knowledge of OpenShift and Azure cloud environments.Experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and Kubernetes.Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Helm and Terraform.Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Bash, Python, Groovy, Java, and/or PHP).Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Desired Qualifications:

Experience using Harness.io.Experience with Istio or other service mesh technologies.Familiarity with microservices architecture.Knowledge of monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., Splunk and Datadog).Previous experience in identity management or security-related projects.Relevant certifications in cloud platforms, DevOps, or security.
