They own many of the most trusted brands in the air transportation industry, including LEKTRO, JetAire, JetPower, AmpTekÔ, Jetway, and more.The HVAC Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of various types of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in a dynamic airport environment. This role ensures the efficient operation of HVAC systems to maintain optimal climate conditions and operational efficiency.HVAC Responsibilities:Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts.Troubleshoot and diagnose HVAC system malfunctions and determine appropriate repair methods.Inspect, monitor, repair, maintain, and operate mechanical systems, motors, compressors, pumps, fans, ducts, pipes, thermostats, and switches.Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on required systems; replace filters when necessary.Read complex blueprints, piping, sketches, schematics, and wiring diagrams.Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections; enter all information into CMMS systems.Comply with company safety program and trainings.Work productively and cohesively in a diverse and multicultural environment.Perform other duties as assigned or needed.HVAC Qualifications:High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required.HVAC Universal Certification required.Valid Driver’s License required.Minimum 3 years of HVAC maintenance and repair experience required, commercial or industrial experience preferred.Ability to understand blueprints and electrical schematics.Demonstrated ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment.Basic computer skills.Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.Willingness to work in various weather conditions.Ability to be badged to work in secure areas of an airport.Ability to work Day or Night Shift including weekends and holidays.HVAC PHYSICAL DEMANDS:While performing the duties of HVAC Technician, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and work in small spaces. Ladder work required. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in outside weather conditions on an airport ramp around aircraft and the confined areas of baggage conveyor systems. Specific vision abilities required by this job include good close proximity vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Good hand/eye coordination is required.HVAC WORK ENVIRONMENT:The work environment is similar to airport operation with vehicular traffic. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, outside weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, cold, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Employees will work on an airport ramp around aircraft and around heavy equipment.
