EHS Safety Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Safety Engineer to support the Santa Clara site and collaborate with regional EHS staff to support various US sites. The ideal candidate will work closely with regional and global EHS teams, site management, and site representatives. This position reports to the EHS Centers of Excellence, Global Industrial Hygiene Program Manager, and is based in Santa Clara, California.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct assessments to identify and evaluate potential workplace hazards, such as chemical, biological, or physical agents, that may adversely affect employee health. This includes conducting air sampling, noise monitoring, and other measurements to assess exposure levels.

Ensure that assigned projects are completed as planned to meet EH&S goals, provide management with updates and escalate any issues, and maintain communication with site/location functions.

Ensure environmental, health, and safety programs and management systems are in place and effective to minimize the risks to employees, the environment, and the community.

Provide technical guidance on environmental, health, and safety issues to site manufacturing and engineering organizations, and contribute to the development of site-wide EH&S standards and procedures.

Conduct regular inspections and audits to assess compliance with EHS standards and identify areas for improvement.

Collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to promote a strong safety culture and address EHS concerns.

Work closely with employees, managers, and other stakeholders to identify ergonomic concerns, address issues, and promote a culture of ergonomic awareness and safety.

Prepare written reports incorporating findings, risk assessments, and recommended corrective actions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, management, and external stakeholders to ensure effective EHS management, promote continuous improvement, and address EHS concerns and initiatives.

Develop and deliver safety training to raise awareness and promote health and safety in an industrial setting.

Familiar with Benchmark Gensuite for incident management, site compliance, and regulatory tracking.

Participate in the emergency response team and may involve after-hours response.

Interface with internal and external customers regarding environmental, health, and safety issues, and act as a liaison with local, regional, or federal regulatory authorities.

Possess strong analytical, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

Other Requirements:

This position may require standing for extended periods of time, walking, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, and lifting up to 25 lbs. Additionally, because this position also may involve working in a clean room, the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, chemical aprons, and face shields may be required.Education:

Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, or other engineering degree with a focus on safety.Experience:

1-5 Years of EHS experience.Qualifications
