The individual is responsible for the development of the annual budget and monthly forecasts for these OUs, analyzing financial results, highlighting operational variances, and identifying and resolving issues. The individual partners directly with OU staff and OU senior management to accomplish these objectives. The incumbent is also responsible for driving ad-hoc projects and process improvements to support client operations and financial reporting.

The role reports to the Senior Manager, Business Finance Solutions, Corporate Activities/Human Resources/Global Operations/Executive/Chief of Staff and currently has no direct reports. The incumbent works independently and is required to complete most tasks with minimal supervision. As the primary finance subject matter expert for their designated clients, they will provide accurate financial advice and educate staff as needed on all aspects of financial management. In addition, this individual will provide the necessary reporting as required for OU staff on actuals/forecasts/budgets.

This individual conducts periodic reviews of existing processes and recommends, socializes, and implements changes as necessary. They will resolve problems, demonstrate strong leadership skills, occasionally lead meetings, and facilitate effective interactions between BFS staff and OU staff.

Key ResponsibilitiesManages finances for the Corporate Activities and Human Resources operating units, including budget & forecasting, financial reporting, P&L ad hoc analysis, and other projects.Consolidates and analyzes total CA and HR financial trends by cost center and OU.Interfaces and partners with the appropriate OU staff to plan, implement, and create budgets and forecasts. Provides financial analysis and consultation to OU management, as needed.Streamlines processes and ensures tools used to develop financials are efficient, working closely with IEEE Financial Planning & Analysis and IT staff to automate processes and reduce manual work.Acts as the key point of contact with the Controller’s office for general ledger adjustments, accruals, and allocations.Additional ResponsibilitiesAd hoc projects/analysis as needed.QualificationsEducationBachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field is required.Work Experience7-10 years of related experience demonstrating an intermediate to advanced level of knowledge of business, Accounting and Financial Administration procedures and practices, Financial Systems, and Budgeting and Forecasting.Skills and RequirementsStrong time management skills and the ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.Strong analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.Strong communication and interpersonal skills; must work well with various levels of staff and volunteers, including IEEE senior management and volunteer leadership.Ability to provide senior executives and staff with critical data and reports to enhance strategic planning, forecasting, and analytical functions.Ability to undertake complex financial analyses, including budgeting, trend analysis, forecasting, and financial modeling.Strong technical and financial knowledge, including understanding of accounting and internal controls.Proficiency in Microsoft Suite with strong Excel skills; knowledge of Oracle Cloud and EPM ad hoc reporting is a plus.Ability to utilize financial data and information to make sound recommendations that promote data-based decision-making and cost-effectiveness.Successful record of increasing efficiency, accuracy, and financial visibility by creating, streamlining, and improving processes, systems, and reports.Other Requirements:As defined in IEEE Policies, individuals currently serving on an IEEE board or committee are not eligible to apply.
