A day in the life:

Prologis is seeking a Director, Energy Financial Reporting who is passionate about sustainable energy, climate change, and technology. Reporting to the Vice President of Energy and Technical Accounting, this role will lead the accounting department in reporting and analyzing the Global Energy business. You will work closely with senior leaders in the Global Energy business to evaluate accounting and financial reporting implications of the new energy business, and provide accounting and financial perspective to these leaders as the energy business grows and develops.

Key responsibilities include:

Lead in a global role reporting to senior Accounting leadership

Oversee and lead all internal and external financial reporting for the energy business, including internal financial reporting which will roll up into consolidated Prologis reporting and external reporting.

Creation of both operational reports and U.S. GAAP and potentially IFRS financial statements for external reporting.

Create processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting of energy transactions and metrics for the emerging Global Energy business.

Review and analyze monthly and quarterly financial statements for the energy business for accuracy and understanding of the business.

Be a primary point of contact for the Global Energy business, working extensively with the business to understand reporting needs and ensure that accounting principles and policies are understood and appropriately applied.

Partner with multiple teams within the global accounting team to oversee implementation of reporting and processes.

Collaborate with operations, finance, FP&A, and legal to understand energy transactions.

Serve as a resource for international and other accounting groups with questions on accounting and reporting for energy transactions.

Special projects as needed for senior management.

Make suggested improvements to existing processes and assist with implementation.

Up to 20% domestic travel.

Building blocks for success:

Required:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting from a four-year college or university

8+ total years of financial reporting experience and technical accounting experience, with prior leadership roles

5+ years of public accounting experience

Relevant energy industry experience (renewable energy or utility experience)

Strong ability to operate in the grey and create a playbook for new processes and reporting utilizing prior experience

Independently identify and implement strategic goals for energy reporting

Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced and agile environment, prioritize and manage multiple assignments.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Drives and manages department-level issues to completion

Able to make decisions individually and be accountable for those decisions

Strong initiative / demonstrates leadership in meetings

Consistently demonstrates the Accounting Leadership principles

Utilizes advanced knowledge to contribute to the development of critical projects and objectives for the department.

Demonstrated ability to evaluate processes and identify and implement process enhancements

Customer service focus with demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative manner

Positive, proactive work ethic

High level of attention to detail and accuracy

Show tact, discretion, confidentiality and good judgment in handling sensitive matters

Preferred:

CPA license

Hiring Salary Range:

$148,000 - $180,000. Salary and whole compensation package to be determined by the candidate’s location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
