We have an exciting new role within our Personal Development team across the Inspire Education Group (based across Peterborough College and Stamford College).

The role is to support the Assistant Principal Student Experience and Support in the leading of a team of Student Mentors. You will work collaboratively with the Personal Development Coordinators on both college sites.

The role will require you to lead on the intent, implementation and impact of a responsive and current Personal Development (tutorial) Programme that develops and prepares students across the group for future success and their next steps.

Student Mentors are responsible for planning and delivering weekly Personal Development sessions (tutorials) and for providing front line pastoral support for a caseload of students. A priority of the role is to track and monitor student attendance.

The Personal Development Group Lead will be expected to work collaboratively with Heads of Department; Welfare and Engagement; Careers, and Curriculum Teams to support the overall IEG Personal Development Strategy for all IEG students.

Your main duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following areas:

Lead and manage the team of student mentors across IEG, with the support of Personal Development Coordinators at each campus.

Lead on the development and implementation of a high quality and meaningful student Personal Development (tutorial) and pastoral support programme that supports students to develop positive attitudes and behaviours to become an active, responsible and respectful citizen.

Actively bring about a collaborative group approach to the Personal Development Programme, including regular updates for curriculum teams and attendance to wider group manager meetings.

Undertake learning walks and lesson observations, with the support of Personal Development Coordinators and Quality team, ensuring all Student Mentors receive regular developmental feedback and coaching which is used to improve learning and participation in their sessions.

Support Personal Development Coordinators to ensure appropriate cover arrangements are in place to ensure continuity of provision for any staff absence.

Lead and manage key guest speaker programme across the group, sharing appropriately with key managers to secure maximum engagement.

Seek feedback on the impact of guest speakers in terms of student’s personal development.

Collaborate with the Student Engagement Leads and EDI coordinator to support the embedding of the group’s Student Voice and Engagement strategy and be proactive in student focus group opportunities.

Work with Head of Student Wellbeing and Engagement at both sites to ensure that all student have access to enrichment and personal development activities as part of the curriculum that supports their mental and physical wellbeing and knowledge, behaviours and skills for progression into employment.

Lead on the planning of the tutorial process relating to students’ personal development and welfare, safeguarding and prevent agenda, working in partnership with the Head of Student Wellbeing and Engagement and curriculum teams. To ensure currency of subject knowledge.
