The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on bankruptcy, restructuring, and creditors' rights. Additional experience in commercial litigation is preferred. The firm offers an opportunity for immediate client contact and collaboration with consultants in a fast-paced environment.Duties and Responsibilities
Bankruptcy and Insolvency Matters : Handle complex commercial bankruptcy cases, including Chapter 11, restructuring, and insolvency matters for corporate clients.Creditors’ Rights : Represent creditors in bankruptcy proceedings, ensuring the protection of their financial interests.Restructuring : Assist in corporate restructurings and reorganizations, working closely with clients to develop legal strategies that maximize recovery.Legal Research and Writing : Conduct in-depth legal research on bankruptcy and commercial litigation issues. Draft motions, briefs, pleadings, and other legal documents.Court Representation : Appear in bankruptcy court, handle hearings, and provide oral advocacy in support of client cases.Client Management : Maintain direct contact with clients, offering legal advice, updates, and strategy recommendations.Team Collaboration : Work closely with partners and other associates to provide comprehensive legal support in complex bankruptcy cases.Commercial Litigation : Assist with commercial litigation matters that arise in conjunction with bankruptcy or restructuring cases.Problem Solving : Use strong analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate complex legal issues and develop effective strategies for clients.Requirements
Bar Admission : Admission to the State Bar of Maryland is preferred, and candidates must be members in good standing.Experience :
2-5 years of legal experience, with a focus on bankruptcy, insolvency, restructuring, and creditors' rights.Experience in commercial litigation is a plus.Bankruptcy judicial clerkships and journal experience are encouraged to apply.
Education : Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Skills :
Strong legal research and writing skills.Excellent oral advocacy and analytical abilities.High attention to detail, organizational skills, and motivation to succeed.Strong client management and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while also collaborating with a legal team.Talent for problem-solving and developing strategic approaches to complex bankruptcy matters.
