Pay Range:
$80,000- $120,000 Per Year. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire and will be dependent on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure when applicable.
Knight Insurance Group is seeking a skilled and experienced Claims Manager to join and grow with our team. As the Claims Manager, you will have a unique opportunity to assist in establishing and developing our claims department. Reporting directly to the President of the Company, you will play an important role in refining the claims system, building a team of adjusters, and overseeing Third-Party Administrators (TPAs) for our program business. This is a full-time position.
What You'll do as a Claims Manager:
Claims Department Development: Collaborate with the President and other stakeholders to establish and refine the claims department's structure, policies, and procedures. Contribute to the development of a streamlined and efficient claims management system.
System Refinement: Work closely with the IT department and external vendors to enhance and optimize the claims system, ensuring it meets the company's specific requirements and aligns with industry best practices.
Team and TPA Management: Build, lead, train, and mentor a claims team, providing guidance on coverage determination, claims investigations, litigation strategies, settlement negotiations, and customer service. Manage relationships with TPAs, ensuring effective communication, adherence to service level agreements, and quality control.
Claims Adjudication: Oversee the evaluation, investigation, and adjudication of complex claims, including those related to commercial auto, trucking/transportation, general liability, property, and personal lines. Provide guidance and support to adjusters in claim resolution and settlement strategies.
Performance Evaluation: Monitor the performance of the claims team and TPAs, establishing performance metrics and conducting regular evaluations. Identify areas for improvement, implement corrective measures, and provide ongoing training to enhance team effectiveness and efficiency.
Compliance and Regulations: Stay updated with industry regulations, legal requirements, and emerging trends in claims management. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies, including timely reporting, documentation, and adherence to claims handling protocols.
Customer Service: Foster a customer-centric approach within the claims department, emphasizing prompt and accurate FNOL, coverage determination, claim investigations, timely response to litigation, and effective communication with policyholders, brokers, claimants, plaintiff counsel, and other stakeholders, with a focus on customer satisfaction.
Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as underwriting, legal, finance, and IT, to ensure seamless operations and optimize overall company performance. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management regarding claims-related matters.
Qualifications
What we look for in our Claims Manager?
Bachelor's degree in business, Insurance and Risk Management, or a related field (equivalent experience may be considered)
Minimum of 7 years of experience in claims management, with a focus on commercial auto, trucking/transportation, general liability, property, and personal lines
Strong knowledge of claims handling processes, insurance industry regulations, and best practices
Experience in developing and implementing claims systems and processes
Proven leadership and team management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent writing skills
Detail-oriented and highly organized
Proficiency in using claims management software and related tools
Experience working with TPAs is highly desirable
Relevant professional certifications (e.g., AIC, CPCU) are a plus
License to adjust property & casualty claims in home state. Other States is a plus.
