Conduct interviews, surveys, and workshops using various techniques to gather requirements from stakeholders. Analyze requirements to ensure they are clear, complete, and unambiguous.
Document existing processes and design improved ones, often with the help of diagrams and flowcharts.
Define and document user journeys representing interaction scenarios.
Create and evolve design documentation and artifacts, including workflows, task flows, user flows, site maps, annotated wireframes, functional requirements, functional prototypes and research results.
Envision and define innovative and effective flows and interaction styles to improve efficiency and user productivity.
Evaluate potential solutions for feasibility and assess their impact on the business and existing systems.
Act as a liaison between the business stakeholders and the IT team to ensure clear communication and alignment of expectations.
Assist in the implementation of new systems or processes, including training and support for end-users.Expected Work Products:
Business Requirements Document (BRD): A detailed description of business needs and the criteria for solution acceptance.
Functional Specifications: A document that outlines the functionality required to meet the business needs, often including use cases or user stories.
Technical Specifications: Detailed specifications that IT developers use to design and implement the solution. This could be part of or separate from the Functional Specifications, depending on the organization's methodology.
Process Diagrams: Visual representations of current and future business processes, using notations like BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation).
Data Models: Diagrams or documents that describe how data is to be structured and managed within the system.
Test Plans and Test Cases: Documents that outline how the solution will be tested to ensure it meets the requirements.
User Manuals/Training Materials: Guides and materials created to help end-users understand and use the new system or process effectively.
