Position Overview: The Lodge and Conference Center at Hocking College is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Operations who will oversee and coordinate Events on campus in collaboration with the Director of Catering Services and the Director of Operations of the Lodge at Hocking College. This position will report to the Executive Director of Hospitality and Culinary Programs within the School Workforce Development.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the daily operations of Events at Hocking College. This includes intake of event inquiries, development of proposals, managing part-time and student-workers, and coordination of event services.

Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Oversee budgeting, financial management, and reporting to ensure the facility operates within budgetary constraints.

Collaborate with the marketing team to promote Hocking College’s entrepreneurial Hospitality Events ledger, including the Lodge and Conference Center as a premier destination for events, weddings, and conferences.

Drive initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and improve overall guest experience.

Recruit, train, and manage staff to maintain high standards of service and performance.

Implement and oversee service-learning initiatives to integrate student learning experiences into the operation.

Foster strong relationships with clients, vendors, and stakeholders to support business growth and community engagement.

Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and licensing regulations.

Teach 1-2 classes per semester in our Hospitality and/or Business Management program.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality, Business Management, or Marketing

3-5 years of experience in sales, marketing, or managing events and/or teams, preferably in the hospitality industry

Demonstrated ability to grow revenues

Forward thinking individual who likes to build new services and programs

Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.

Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in financial management and budgeting.

Experience in marketing and promotional activities for hospitality services.

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
