To serve our customers we work in close co-operation with the Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions Sales Areas. We have strong customer focus and safety as core values.We are now looking for an energetic and results-oriented VP, Sales and Marketing for our Division. This is a global role based in Alachua, Florida and reporting to the President of Rotary Drilling Division. You are a member of the Rotary Drilling Division management team.Your missionAs VP of Sales and Marketing, you will work towards driving sales and market share growth of rotary drills, both directly with customers, and through your strong support of our Sales Areas. Your primary areas of focus will be to lead the Sales and Marketing function in developing key, strategic performance objectives; leading efforts to ensure a safe and sustainable workplace, driving organizational excellence, digitalization, and efficiencies to support business performance. In this role, you will be a leading influencer to secure that Sandvik Rotary Drilling remains a great place to work.Main Responsibilities:Lead the Sales and Marketing team that supports and drives the sales of rotary drilling products on the global marketBuild and maintain rapport with customers, developing long term relationships on high levels between mining companies and the DivisionWork closely with the Surface Major Projects team to identify and cultivate long term sales opportunities, and develop and execute win plans in collaboration with the Sales AreasWork collaboratively across Divisions and Sales Areas in order to secure the “one Sandvik” experience and increase win rates and customer satisfactionImplement commercial processes and tools within the Sales and Marketing team to support the Sales Areas with timely input on tender negotiationsOversee the collection of customer feedback on rotary rigs, and develop strategies on how to improve customer satisfactionDrive the monthly review process with all Sales Areas to follow up on each regional rotary drilling business including P&L, balance sheet, opportunity pipeline, market share and support needed from the backlineIn concert with Business Line Managers and Account Managers, conceptualize and initiate business development opportunities including event participation and customer visits to the factoryProvide input on Global Framework Agreements with Sandvik’s key customersDrive product profitability by value-selling the offering, and maintaining margin awareness. Review rigs invoiced for actual margin versus planned, and follow-up cross-functionally to implement learnings where neededFocus on sales inventory management, striking the right balance between unit availability and working capital levelsEnsure demand-supply balancing by collecting and consolidating forecast reports from Area ManagersAssist Area Managers and Business Line Managers in planning for the competence and support requirements needed to successfully sell rotary rigs in the Sales Areas. Ensure a plan is in place to continuously train front line sales and service personnelEnsure proper marketing and promotional material is available for all products, and that sales personnel understand them and are properly trained to use themCollect market intelligence information, such as won/lost orders and market shares, competitor activities, competitor product performance and price/value comparisons as well as direct features and benefit comparisonsDrive usage of the CRM system, and support Business Area-wide projects to enhance its usage and capabilitiesThe foregoing will naturally require the ability to travel both domestically and internationally, approximately 25% of the timeYour characterA university degree is required, as well as minimum of five (5-10) years’ prior experience leading a sales team, preferably in the mining technology industry. Open pit mining and rotary drilling application experience are preferred. A track record of developing sales in the mining industry is required. The ideal candidate will have the ability to function independently and produce results that meet standards of quality, timeliness and acceptability with minimal supervision and general direction.We value your drive and personality, characterized by your excellent goal-oriented leadership, integrity, and ability to lead, and motivate people.
