pplies standard engineering techniques to design, install, modify, analyze, repair and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment. Development, release, and support of engineering artifacts across the development cycle to support hardware fabrication, assembly, verification, test and operations. Implements operating procedures, resolves system malfunctions, and provide technical information. Researches and analyzes customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications. Specifies system components or directs modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications. Investigates equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew.Specifically, you will share in the team's impact on all aspects of designing, building, testing and flying Environmental Control and Life Support (ECLS) flight hardware. The ECLS System is composed of the essential hardware to allow humans to safely inhabit space. ECLSS circulates air around the vehicle picking up carbon dioxide, humidity and trace contaminants to be scrubbed and provides oxygen for breathing. The internal cabin pressure is maintained and monitored. Clean drinking water is provided to the crew. The ECLS system also monitors air quality as well as emergencies such as rapid depressurization and fire and counteracts them.Special MentionsRelocation providedTravel expected up to 5% of the timeInterviews will include a technical assessmentResponsibilities include but are not limited to:Own and lead the Ventilation and Atmosphere Revitalization fan assemblies and interfaces through the entire life cycle: Conception, Design, Build, Test, Install and OperationsDerive functional and performance requirements, and specify hardwarePerform system calculations and basic analysesDesign and integrate the fan assemblies and acoustics into ECLS systemsDefine and maintain interfaces and the schematicsSupport manufacturing engineers in fabrication and assembly planning of hardwareProvide technical and program guidance to solve problems with the help of your teamBe actively involved in development testing of your hardwareLead a multi-discipline product teamDetermine and manage schedule and budget for owned hardwareShow system and component compliance to Blue and NASA technical requirementsBe the technical point of contact for your hardwareParticipate in the supplier selection process of componentsAdhere to Blue Leadership PrinciplesMinimum QualificationsBS in related engineering fieldExperience in one or more areas of the product life cycleExperience leading small technical teams3+ years experience with development of fans, blowers, controllers and/or acoustics controlAbility to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusionM
