Below are some of the responsibilities the Manual Tester may be expected to assume in their position:

Review and analyze system specifications

Collaborate with Business Analysts, Test Engineers and Test Planners/Managers to develop effective strategies and test plans

Write manual test scripts in order to test requirements and perform system regression testing.

Execute test manual cases and analyze results.

Evaluate product code according to specifications

Create logs to document testing phases and defects

Report bugs and errors to development teams

Help troubleshoot issues

Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing

Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

Oversee all test events and manage multiple test events, defining and staffing these test events with appropriate resources.

They will configure necessary hardware and operating environments as needed to complete assigned testing and manage the defect database.

Fixes defects

Must attempt to understand the customer, to “be in their” shoes, in order value the importance of the product being delivered

Must take care of and encourage other team members

Must deliver software that meets or exceeds customer expectations, verified during sprint reviews

The Must-Haves: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below.

Must currently reside in the US.

Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance

Must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other Information Technology major (Or equivalent work experience)

Minimum of 2 years of Manual Testing experience

2+ years’ experience as a Manual Tester

Experience writing test scripts based on acceptance criteria

Experience testing APIs/web services integration between applications

Experience running test scripts and documenting results, including documenting defects

Experience participating in daily scrum meetings with users and developers to report and suggest resolution to issues discovered during testing

Experience in a technical business systems analyst position with a proven track record to work under pressure and deliver

Experience operating within an Agile development methodology

Preferred Skills/Experience: The experience listed below are preferred for this job

Experience using JIRA and Azure Dev Ops

Experience using Rational ClearCase and ClearQuest

Experience using Microsoft Office Suite

Experience with IBM Rational Functional Tester and IBM Performance Tester

GeekSI now covers 100 percent employer contribution toward health insurance premiums for employees and 50 percent for dependents.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000 per year
