Sourcing Category Manager . In this role, the qualified individual will be a part of the Intralox Baltimore (IBA) Supply Chain Team to play a hybrid role of manufacturing specialist and relationship manager. This position will be in the Hanover, MD office reporting to the Supply Chain Supervisor.The Sourcing Category Manager must have familiarity with industry standards with a variety of field concepts, best practices, and procedures. Discuss and comprehend technical topics on both electrical and mechanical components with both internal product development teams and external vendors.Execute extensive review of all electrical components; from review selects primary, secondary, and tertiary electrical component options. Options will be inputted into IBA’s Product Lifecycle Management software.Thoroughly understand the electrical component supplier pool ensuring suppliers are positioned for success given IBA’s supply demand.Manage vendor relationships from qualification through development and continuous improvement.Co-lead new product development amongst internal stakeholders and suppliers.Coordinate supplier management tasks inclusive of working with suppliers and internal employees.Build long-term relationships by providing value, opportunities for growth, customer acquisition, and brand-building for multiple vendors.Increase vendor participation through deep knowledge of program opportunities.Collaborate with Supply Chain and Supplier Quality teams to understand supplier performance compared to expectation.Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in vendor or customer management.Bachelor’s Degree or higher in relevant field.Ability to understand and work from electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.Must have a high technical aptitude.Previous knowledge of commonly used controls engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.Ability to understand manufacturer data sheets and apply them in practice.Work with personnel at all levels of an organization.Maintain poise and focus under time constraint pressures and the potential of long work hours.Computer proficiency with demonstrated experience in MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).Must be able to travel 30% of the year.Desired Qualifications:
Experience in Autodesk Software or equivalent.Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management Software.Experience with root cause analysis practices.
