Position Overview
Delta Utilities is seeking a highly experienced and motivated product owner of customer applications to play a crucial role in overseeing and supporting all customer and Customer Information System (CIS) applications within Delta Utilities. This position will lead the efforts in configuring Oracle applications, acting as the primary liaison between the business and information technology (IT) departments. The ideal candidate will have experience playing a critical role in ensuring the successful completion of application configurations and the seamless integration of business processes with IT solutions. It is a full-time position based in New Orleans, Louisiana. Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the team responsible for customer and CIS applications, providing guidance to team members. Serve as the primary point of contact between the organization and external partners (e.g., Accenture) for Oracle application configuration and support. Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Oversee the configuration and implementation of Oracle applications, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to gather requirements, define project scope, and ensure timely delivery of solutions. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively, reporting progress to senior management. Act as the main liaison between the business units and IT, ensuring that customer applications meet the needs of the business. Facilitate communication and collaboration between teams to ensure that business processes are integrated seamlessly with IT solutions. Translate business requirements into technical specifications and ensure their successful implementation. Oversee the day-to-day operation and support of customer and CIS applications, ensuring high availability and performance. Lead efforts in troubleshooting and resolving application issues, working closely with IT and business teams. Develop and maintain documentation related to application configurations, processes, and procedures. Identify opportunities for improving customer applications and processes, driving innovation and efficiency. Lead initiatives to enhance the customer experience through optimized application functionality and support, remaining updated on industry trends and best practices. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in information technology (IT), computer science, business administration, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in IT, with a focus on customer applications, CIS systems, or related areas; experience in the utility or similar regulatory industries is highly desirable. Proven experience leading and managing application configurations, preferably with Oracle systems. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise between technical and business teams. Deep understanding of customer application processes and best practices. Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation. Relevant certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) or Oracle applications are a plus. Ability to perform occasional travel to meet with stakeholders, attend industry events, or collaborate with external partners. About Delta Utilities
Delta Utilities is a leading natural gas utility with a focus on safe, dependable service to customers. Headquartered in New Orleans, Louisiana, the utility will serve nearly 600,000 customers and become one of the leading natural gas providers in Louisiana and Mississippi and among the top 40 providers in the United States. In 2023, Entergy announced that it had entered into an agreement with Delta Utilities to sell its Louisiana gas distribution business. The natural gas utility currently serves more than 200,000 customers across East Baton Rouge and Orleans parishes. In February 2024, Delta Utilities entered into an agreement with CenterPoint Energy to acquire its Louisiana and Mississippi natural gas businesses, which currently serve approximately 381,000 customers. Once the transactions are complete, Entergy's Louisiana natural gas operations and CenterPoint Energy's Louisiana and Mississippi natural gas systems will be operated by Delta Utilities. Learn more:
