Responsibilities

Job PurposeThe Pro Shop Manager is responsible for managing all golf shop activities, including sales and guest service. Duties include supervision of personnel assigned to work in the pro shop, on the driving range and in golf cart maintenance, and the administration of facility rules and regulations.ResponsibilitiesManage golf shop activities including checking in members and guests, selling merchandise, processing cash and credit card transactions, and managing reservationsServe customers in the pro shop and supervise inventory controlHire and manage golf shop staff by conducting training, supervising and evaluating performance, and scheduling to match demand patternsMaintain the pro shop environment by keeping the shop neat and orderly, straightening and stocking merchandiseFollow corporate guidelines for opening and closing duties, cash handling, and transaction recordingRespond to member and guest service issuesPerform management functions in absence of General ManagerAssist the General Manager in the facilitation of staff meetingsOther duties may be assigned by management as necessaryFood & Beverage Managerial experience is preferred but not requiredF&B tasks such as performing Inventory may be assigned

Qualifications

QualificationsA minimum of 1 to 2 years’ experience prior experience in a customer service-oriented environment, preferably in the golf/hospitality/service/leisure entertainment industryAbility to work a flexible scheduleBasic math skills and experience handling cash and credit card transactionsExperience handling customer service issues with good interpersonal and communication skillsProven ability to work with little or no direct supervisionAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentKnowledge of recreational operations and golf course maintenance preferredEducationHigh School Diploma/GED requiredSkills/Abilities/Personal CharacteristicsFlexibilityAdvanced Verbal and Written CommunicationTeamworkTime ManagementCollaborationDecision makingThoroughnessEfficiencyWorking ConditionsDays and hours of work vary by schedule and business needs.Evening, weekend, and holiday work will be required.While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand for long periods of time, to walk, read, hear, talk, balance, climb, use hands, use fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, smell, taste, push or pull.
